Shambles. apparently we've now withdrawn our interest in Sissoko. footy equivalent of taking your bat and ball home. Really disapointing window, can't be denied too much blind faith in the club that things will work out. We've had all summer to assemble a squad and get pushed off a panic buy in the last hour. Only spent the stones money, Poor from the top brass and management team.

I feel the board have a lot of explaining to us the suporters and to RK. If we cannot do better he will go at the end of the season, he is not shy on leaving clubs.
Mr Moshiri has a lot to sort out in our handling of transfares at our club, heads must roll (Elstone) maybe.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 22:38:28
Why is it poor? With Koeman and staff working on the team I think what we have will improve, we are light in places but have some talented youngsters on the fringes of the first team. We want the big signings but for now we just need to get behind the team. If we need to strengthen in Jan we may be in a better situation to attract players, this summer was always going to be tough!

3.) 31 Aug 2016 22:40:47
We have some terrific signings there has not been a top transfer today better than we already have.
Gabbiadini could not come as his club could not get a replacement which is quite normal!

4.) 31 Aug 2016 22:43:11
Nothing more they can do, we might of bid a week ago and Spurs gazump us then, they waited just as long as we did.

Shame he got dazzled in the lights, he's got a lot of competition for a starting place at Spurs.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 22:43:38
Moshiri was part of the board at Arsenal when they had awful transfer windows. He goes and Arsenal spend £80m+. Coincedence?

{Ed002's Note - Maybe start some sort of hate campaign on social media to drive him from Merseyside? Let him know how the Everton fans feel.}

6.) 31 Aug 2016 22:49:11
Well we have a new director of football so clearly its his fault and should be sacked! The board don't owe us any explanation what so ever they tried to get deals done and it didn't happen that's just life. We are in a better state than we have been in since the Mid 80's and you're still moaning about not wasting money on over inflated prices for mediocre players that are not world class. we have signed 7 players in the window 4 1st team and 3 good young prospects what's wrong with that? We finished 11th for the last two seasons can't offer European football and are an ongoing project some players are not going to see us as an attractive prospect their loss as we are on the up. Oh make that 8 signings.

7.) 31 Aug 2016 22:49:25
Southern I'm happy with all of the transfers so far but surly our transfer policy must be looked at after all the so called cash we have not been ruthless enough in a dog eat dog epl league.

{Ed002's Note - Right - not spending enough - I assume you are a Liverpool fan?}

8.) 31 Aug 2016 22:47:17
Everything was agreed personal terms and everything and medical room ready but we couldn't reach him for a couple of hours and wouldn't answer koeman phone call then got a call from his agents saying he didn't want to join us he lacked any class by not telling koeman on the phone disappointing day all round but are siginings we do have in have all been quality guess we will have to wait till January then this should give Walsh enough time to line up all his targets.

12.) 31 Aug 2016 22:54:38
It's still not good enough. The fact that we don't seem to be able to get a deal. sorted in good time and stoke can pull off two for decent player and get them signed quickly makes me think there is a deficiency at efc. Mr moshiri has come out publicly and stated that we would spend. It's not happened. I can see new signings in the management team and reassurance being given to ronny as if we don't meet his expectations. he'll go . simples.

{Ed025's Note - simple being the operative word..

13.) 31 Aug 2016 22:56:07
We can't progress unless we can make deals. Today has set us back. Players don't fancy Everton. We are spread far to thin lukaku gets injured where do we go? If someone tells me Valencia is a viable option I'm not having that. He was signed on the back of a World Cup he played well in. He has proven nothing at club level. We failed today an injury or two we have no goals. I hope I'm proven wrong bet lukaku was promised some big names we face him wanting to go in Jan.

14.) 31 Aug 2016 22:59:35
Ed I'm usually so patient and positive. One of my mates is an Arsenal fan and didn't blink when I got excited about Moshiri. I really want to be wrong, I would post A pic of me in my briefs to humilate myself if I'm wrong. My roots now are around Burnley, Preston and Blackpool and I'm getting mocked!

{Ed002's Note - Briefs are a girly thing. Men wear boxers with a sandpaper interior. Move south and pick a new team.}

15.) 31 Aug 2016 23:02:57
Players initiative he can choose end of!
We have done good business and are stronger going forward!
The club have done their best to improve the squad competing against CL clubs!
The new manager is top drawer!
The owners are top drawer!
This is the best club in the world to all of us!
COYB!

16.) 31 Aug 2016 23:11:57
Not really seeing has he had no say in Arsenal.

17.) 31 Aug 2016 23:19:23
Northern through and through no go Ed lol.

18.) 31 Aug 2016 23:24:13
I'd say if he had twelve od percent in arsenal that would not even allow you to choose the toilet roll.

19.) 01 Sep 2016 07:18:55
Kingpin, your assessment of FM when he was on the board is totally wide of the mark. Kroenke is the main man on their board and doesn't let the likes of Usinov, who owns about 40% of the gunners, spend any of his billions. So to suggest that FM wouldn't spend his cash there, and is continuing in the same manner with us, is rather stupid and juvenile. If your arsenal mate tells you otherwise then he doesn't know much about his own club.

20.) 01 Sep 2016 12:57:14
Moshiri never got a say at boardroom level. We are not compeating with the mid table teams now, we are trying to buy with the top six sides that regulary compete in europe.

31 Aug 2016 22:05:55
Looks like Spurs will blow us out the water with an hour left. Oh well, not like we've had all summer to sign players. All very familiar, we tried and failed. again. but it'll be ok next time blah blah blah.

Someone tell the negociaing team in situ in Naples they can stay there!

2.) 31 Aug 2016 22:11:29
Has stated before he wants to play for the Spuds oh well he won't be coming out way.

We are loaning players from West Ham. West Ham! What a time to be alive! Wake up fans, nothing's changed.

ROBBO05

{Ed002's Note - It is indeed a pity that Everton didn't just buy for the sake of it as you want. Spend a lot more money - doesn't matter who on - just spend. Are you a Liverpool fan? Do you look like a potato?}

1.) 31 Aug 2016 22:59:03
I'm not advocating spending on 'anyone', quite the opposite which is why I'm bemoaning taking a west ham player on loan and getting gazumped on a panic buy. We've had all summer to strengthen and we haven't done enough. You can't honestly believe we can get by with rom and Kone as only strikers. Where's the strategy? Apparently we have money so let's use it rather than hide behind the same old excuses.

{Ed002's Note - The expectations were offset from reality.}

2.) 31 Aug 2016 22:59:16
We have spent money for the sake of it. Valencia, really the worst attacking player in the premier. Niasse is not good good enough but we bring in another useless option. We would have been better signing nobody.

{Ed002's Note - You have a point.}

31 Aug 2016 14:09:40
Have a bad feeling about the outcome of deadline day. Bony gone, London clubs in for Sissoko and we are just linked with gabbiadinni who would be a total unknown at premier league level.

Feels like the new boss is the same as the old boss and we will be given stories of how we tried and failed to make signings and we must sign 'the right players' for the club. We've only spent the stones money, where's the new money? Where are the big name signings to push us on? Why didn't we stump up for Hart? Fear we are getting spun a yarn again and most fans will loyally swallow the rhetoric rather than realise we've spent nothing more than the stones money we got in!

ROBBO05

1.) 31 Aug 2016 14:32:05
will get 2 as a minimum, perhaps 4, this new ownership does not indulge in the bullshit we have been spun in the past.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 14:36:37
Wow. How negative can people be? I don't really care that we haven't spent much more than the stones money. Is our squad better? Yes. Is our club in a better position? Yes. Is the stadium closer now than it has been for years? Yes. Did we replace our hapless manager with someone with huge respect in football, with premier league experience? Yes. Did we change our scouting system and bring in someone who was largely credited for giving Leicester the squad to win the league? Yes. Have we started the season better than we have for years? Yes. I can go on and on.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 14:45:05
have to agree with what you have said. at the start of the window we brought in the GK and Gueyre - the amount spent on both is what you would typically spend when bolstering your squad. the rest of the money has been spent once Stones was gone ( we replaced a young defender- yes he wanted to leave with a ageing defender and spent 20odd mill on an attacker)

So yes we have spent what we have recouped in essence and even tho I am happy with the players brought in I was led to beleive we would be spending more on players that could push us forward towards European footy.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 14:41:16
Jesus lad have faith and believe in moshiri Walsh and Koeman like most fans do can't believe how negative some fans are.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 14:45:04
Why didn't we stump up the cash for hart? Why didn't any premier league club? Because he is overpriced and overrated.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 14:48:08
Are you serious? We have brought in Stek, Williams, Bolasie and Gueye. Why does it matter if we make more money than we spend? The hierarchy can't just click their fingers and demand that so called big name signings join us. Quite simply we are not an attractive enough proposition! - I love Everton as much as anyone but i'm a realist who knows that we need to improve our league position before better quality will want to consider us. I don't want us signing mediocrity just to appease fans who want a whole new squad every window.

7.) 31 Aug 2016 14:52:43
See my post a few pages back. We are in good shape, even if we sign no one.

I was written that Bony was a 120k a week benchwarmer. RK and Walsh know what they are looking for.

Have faith folks. The team as it is is better. As the players gel, as they shift to RK's way, we are going to be better.

8.) 31 Aug 2016 15:33:18
Its tough out there, we didn't even attract the best when we consistently finished in the top 6.
We are being linked with better players now than when we were in europe so that has got to be a change for the better.

9.) 31 Aug 2016 16:26:08
Don't want to be negative, I think the club is in great shape now but it's a long season ahead. If we are going to be competitive, we need a better squad. Too much reliance on Rom, are there enough goals in the squad? stek is decent but not top class, can jags last the season, same for Barry. It's a great start to the season and it looks promising but I fear without adding quality, we'll run out of steam.

Of course the club is in a better position on a number of fronts and that's great, I just think we could have done more to push ourselves forward. stumping up for Hart, Bony et al would have been a statement of intent.

10.) 31 Aug 2016 16:53:57
ROBBO i think we have just enough depth to get us to January apart from probably another goalscorer.

No evidence anything has changed. We had to sell to buy and didn't spend any more than we got in. I want to believe it'll be different but don't see any evidence that it is. That's why I'm confused as to why so many fans have blind faith that money will be available and we will have an impact in the transfer market.

Swinners I agree, lot of sides will fear the athleticism of our team. Sissoko good player and will certainly strengthen the squad. Not doubting his quality, just needs the right attitude. 30m is a lot of money (as is 15m for Ibe) but it's all relative and that's what you have to pay to get good players these days. I've wanted us to splash the cash so can't grumble if we pull it off, whatever the price. If his heads right he'll be quality for us.

Depends which Sissoko turns up on a Saturday. Either way 30m is overpriced but I guess that's just a reflection of where the market is for prem teams. Powerful line up on the cards with rom, Sissoko, bolasie, gueye Williams. Not going to get outmuscled.

I hope you're right Ed, I really do. I think the squad is good now but we need more if we are going to move up the league, especially up front. If the Valencia rumour is true then it's a bit underwhelming. Hopefully I have a different view come 11PM.

Ed I like your optimism but why are you so convinced the future will be immense? We ha have money now and can't get the players in (or won't) feels very much like a load of near miss sob stories on signings that fans will swallow then forget only to repeat again next window. You Can't deny its a massive disappointment so far. No impact from moshiri money, apart from role in getting RK, all business funded by stones money.

ROBBO05

{Ed025's Note - this is not the old everton robbo, this is an era when things will get better mate, we tried to spend major dosh here but if a player wont come or in reality a club wont let him theres not a lot we can do im afraid mate, moshiri is the real deal and i have total faith that the club is going places..
