Rumours have it that D. V. D. Beek is loving it here at Everton and has no intention in returning back to Man Utd at the end of the season. wanting to sign permanently. no buy-back clause inserted in his loan but UTD would apparently accept bids around 20 million taking a loss on the 35 million they paid for him. now if that is true, I think that is 20 million very well spent in this day and age in my book! Just the type of player we need.

1.) 18 Feb 2022 22:13:21
Hope so, for him it is better playing for a team that wants him rather than sitting on the bench elsewhere.

2.) 18 Feb 2022 23:56:18
Whilst it does sound positive, let’s not get carried away.
He’s had 1 good game for us.
If he keeps it up then great would be a very good deal. However if he does keep putting in good performances then I imagine there’d be other teams interested and also Utd would be looking at more than £20m for him.

Double edged sword really as we want him to do well but the better he does the less chance of us getting a good deal for him.

3.) 19 Feb 2022 02:54:50
I thought he did well when he came on as a sub as well.

4.) 19 Feb 2022 08:32:13
Whether we get him is for later.

What I liked was that it suggests the atmosphere in the dressing room, which was rumoured to pretty bad not so long ago is already in a much better place. Admittedly in comparison to Man Utd which is one of very few clubs that seems to being run as badly as ours in recent times! But a positive none the less.

5.) 19 Feb 2022 08:43:20
Agree Mishmack excellent player hope will will sign him mate.

6.) 19 Feb 2022 09:49:40
Read it in context. 'If' he helps us stay up. As Gingerdan says, let's not get carried away. We do this every time and then the misery and recrimination starts. AVB is a good player as are a few others, fact is two swallows and all that.

7.) 19 Feb 2022 10:22:31
I have to say 'so far so good' and 'hope springs eternal' ?.

8.) 19 Feb 2022 10:36:54
Hope the players are focusing on the here and now. Much needed win and performance last time out. Need another one today, without the home crowd. Tricky run following today so 3 points would be welcome and would remove us from the relegation chatter. Any DVB chat is just speculation as no deal is in place.

9.) 19 Feb 2022 17:59:41
We could do with 2 or 3 CMs in the summer depending if Alan goes. Always seem to be light in CM.

{Ed0666's Note - just the 3 Chris?

10.) 20 Feb 2022 21:54:20
Ideally Ed yeah. I know it won't happen but if Allan goes doucoure is only cm that deserves to start a game. We need to start playing 3 in midfield so with injuries we need 2 or 3 CMs that are good enough to start.

{Ed0666's Note - mate I was insinuating you need more than three. You need a massive rebuild. I would say you need 4 midfielders. I agree the only one id keep is Dacoure I think he’s very good and would get into most premiership teams on merit.

Duncan Ferguson has rejected the chance to become part of Frank Lampard coaching team and is now in talks with Sunderland for some role there app. probably for the best I think. a completely fresh start needed now for our boys going forward!

Mishmack

1.) 30 Jan 2022 21:02:26
Definitely.

2.) 30 Jan 2022 21:21:26
Hopefully the chance to cut his teeth in management. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

3.) 30 Jan 2022 21:56:06
Paul clement as number two, great appointment as well, one of those great coaches that for me never made the grade as a manager
Looking forward to seeing some fresh forward thinking ideas
Also wish Ferguson good luck if he moves on.

! Van de Beek chooses to sign for Everton! (Source: Daily Mail) . welcome Donny.

Mishmack

1.) 30 Jan 2022 17:26:49
Very good player I think.

28 Jan 2022 21:22:43
Frank Lampard offered managers job app. thank God for that!

Mishmack

1.) 28 Jan 2022 21:47:30
No problem with him being offered job. But why is that the and not him accepting or refusing job. Is this how we are conducting all our business now?
Via twitter etc.

God I'm too old for all this! Give me the old days when we didn't know owt about any deal until it was over the line.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 22:00:08
Hopefully no cretins will go spray painting walls of Goodison tonight.

3.) 28 Jan 2022 22:42:00
No problem with this, but why are we told this and not a yes or no from Frank. Is this how we now handling our business. Get it done then announce it, don't trickle don't have candidates ring the press and try and sell themselves. NSNO?.

4.) 28 Jan 2022 22:45:35
He’s a clever guy, not just any ex footballer. I think he nailed all school qualifications too. Where as Wazzer, probably didn’t. I would have stuck with BD for now but hey ho.

5.) 28 Jan 2022 23:17:29
He was the best of two that wanted it (Dunc didn't really want it) . Heres hoping he can inspire the same hard work and endevour he was/ is known for.

6.) 29 Jan 2022 07:02:17
Oh and let's hope before these idiots announced he has been offered, that he actually accepted. Anybody ever seen that sort of announcement before.

7.) 29 Jan 2022 09:36:47
Im happy with the possiblr appointment, english manager, popular with the media, will give the youngster a chance, will hopefully stabilize the club whilst the fair play issues are addressed and be allowed to develop the long term project which is well off the rails.

23 Jan 2022 23:10:30
Vitor Perraira flying in tomorrow morning according to numerous reliable sources to be installed as new Everton fc manager! It's another choice by Moshiri apparently as he's wanting someone with vision and a fresh approach. impressed in his interview app. so this one is down to Farhad again. whereas Bill and most of the board wanted Wayne or big Dunc. you heard anymore on this Ed?

Mishmack

{Ed002's Note - It is not a Moshiri choice - it will be a third party option to consider the legendary journeyman Pereira. Give him the job and look to a replacement at the end of nect season.}

1.) 24 Jan 2022 08:15:59
As I have said before it isn't Moshri but the puppet master. I also suspect that the man that isn't an agent but makes a lot of money from it has had a say. The most important point though, yet again is failure to do due diligence. As Ed says give Pereira the job and look for a replacement at the end of next season - when we are still in the championship (my input) .

2.) 24 Jan 2022 05:59:10
Hi Ed002
What’s he like as a manager? Will be suit Everton? Will he be able to stop the rot and give us a boost we need? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - He has been successful but he has generally managed leading clubs, often in leagues where there is not much competition. Never stays long. Seems very risky.

3.) 24 Jan 2022 06:42:47
Alright Ed do you think he will be a good appointment an could he work out long-term.

{Ed002's Note - He doesn't stay long term and is risky.}

4.) 24 Jan 2022 06:43:42
Look to replace at the end of next season Was that being a bit sarcastic Ed or is that the plan, just to use him untill we find someone else.

{Ed002's Note - I would not stop looking.}

5.) 24 Jan 2022 07:59:57
Fonseca would have been my pick, do you know if our board approach him in the end or was there no interest in the position from his end? .

6.) 24 Jan 2022 08:40:04
I’m clinging on to the word ‘consider’ there, Ed. How does Moshiri not get Kia Joorabchian for the parasite he is?

{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt he would be interested.}

7.) 24 Jan 2022 10:38:48
Morning Ed, do you think we are still looking at other options too as this fella does not fill me with much confidence.

{Ed002's Note - Until a decision is made, options are open. VP has been recommended to the owner so the club will look at him.}

8.) 24 Jan 2022 10:41:20
I think ''journeyman'' tells the story very well .

Frank Lampard just signed his contract to become our new gaffer! Great news! It's all happening today . Donny in too, so who will be next before transfer deadline day passes by? ?.

Mishmack

1.) 30 Jan 2022 17:18:52
It's odd, sometimes you don't know how you'll feel about something till it happens. But assuming all is confirmed soon - I feel like a cloud has lifted a little today. Given what could have happened I think this is close to as good an outcome as we could have got.

2.) 30 Jan 2022 18:45:50
Rumoured that Guaye could be coming back aswell now.

28 Jan 2022 17:42:36
So just ask yourself this question folks. if it was Howard Kendall, Colin Harvey, Joe Royle, Peter Reid or any other staunch Everton through and through supporter currently managing Derby County, would any of these turned down the opportunity at the very least to be interviewed for the chance of becoming manager of Everton Fc? . Rooney true blue? My arse. he is no way any legend of this club and never was apart from scoring that wonder goal at the age of 16 on his debut against the gooners. he achieved all he wanted to achieve by abandoning us for the riches and wealth of Old Trafford. not saying I blame him. but I'm fed up with him being described as some blues legend as again today his decision to even refuse to be interviewed for me shows him for who he really is in regards to this club. Lampard or Ferguson are by far the best candidates left for us. I said this 3 days ago now. & still no announcement from our incompetent board. why does it take so long? We really are a laughing stock in how we do things!

Mishmack

1.) 28 Jan 2022 17:58:05
I can't believe you're slating Rooney for turning interview down, he obviously knows he's only just starting out in the management world, to want to stay and give Derby a fighting chance you surely have to give the lad some credit, I think he actually went as far as saying he'd love to manage us somewhere down the line but even he knows it's to early, just goes to show how much of a mess our club is in to be even considering him at this moment in time.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 18:00:28
Mishmack, Why would Rooney risk ruining his managerial career by joining us?

He stays at derby and keeps them up he's worked miracles.

He stays at derby and they go down - no one will hold it against him as looked a lost cause.

We are not an attractive proposition at the moment with an overactive fan base - you moaning we haven't appointed yet a prime example - would rather take time to get a decent appointment that has been given thought.

He jumps ship and joins us and keeps us up well nothing amazing there apart from he's jumped ship from a team when chips are down so doesn't look good.

He jumps ship to join us and we go down - his managerial career over - the way we are currently playing relegation is a real possibility.

Would make no sense for him to join us with the above.

3.) 28 Jan 2022 18:07:51
He might think it's too soon or he might think that the task at hand is for a more experienced man. He's managing a team probably going to be relegated and not a lot of experience of managing a top club. No need for anyone to have a go. He has his reasons.

4.) 28 Jan 2022 18:52:14
If he didn't get the job he basically would have messed up his opportunity at Derby as how could he expect the players to battle the way it would take if he tried to jump ship. Of we approached him and offered him the job would it be different? I don't know but what I do know is Rooney not becoming our manager is best for everyone involved. Rooney would be stupid to take the job the way the board is and the state the club is in but also the club would be stupid to appoint Rooney at this stage in his managerial career.

5.) 28 Jan 2022 19:01:10
Mishmak because Kia wants Moshri to employ Pereira.

6.) 28 Jan 2022 19:02:03
Said he wasn't ready.

7.) 28 Jan 2022 20:11:03
Rooney is not an Everton legend. He’s a Man Utd legend.
End of.

8.) 28 Jan 2022 20:52:32
I for one massively respect his decision and think its a rare breed to stay loyal on that train wreck in Derby. Its that action that'll spur his squad to over perform and likely save themselves and the club, on the pitch at least. Won't do his future any harm showing that kind of maturity. It's too toxic here for him to work this time, just look at the comments about him here the last week. I for one would welcome him if his star continues to shine in the months ahead in 12 months when we've lynched the next new man ?.

9.) 28 Jan 2022 22:31:54
Regardless of the reasoning for Rooney not being interested, or our views on it, it is clear beyond any shadow of a doubt that he cares not a jot about Everton football club. Why? Because we are a circus, the laughing stock of football and yet he as "a true Evertonian" has chosen to embarrass the club further, and undermine confidence in the new manager, by announcing to the world that he turned the job down. We have lots of disagreements on here (cos we all love and are passionate about the club) but I don't believe any of us would deliberately make public comments to the detriment of the foot all club - because we are all proper Evertonians. Just say nothing, really really simple even for simple Wayne.

10.) 28 Jan 2022 23:47:58
Sorry but if we wanted Rooney as our coach he would have become our coach. In the same report it said we approached his agent and not the administrators. If we were to of approached Rooney through the administrators it was said it would have been a totally different story. I think it’s been blown out of proportion. He was ‘approached for an interview’. Imagine him going for (just) an interview whilst doing his best to keep Derby up, it would be like a hammer blow them and wouldn’t look very professional of him either. I don’t know how true it is by I heard he was 4th down the list so was hardly going to get the job anyway. Super Frank has my backing as has every other manager we’ve had. Let’s hope he can get us playing decent football again that shockingly we have actually seen this season.

11.) 29 Jan 2022 01:06:13
Definitely on the Rooney non club legend side of the debate here. He cut ties with efc by joining utd, I'm not bitter about this and I can't blame him. One of the most ridiculous things efc have done since the famous summer of 2017 when
we flushed millions of pounds down the en suite was re signing him, as far as I'm concerned that's when we started to become a laughing stock as there's no sentiment in football.

26 Jan 2022 19:50:12
Frank Lampard all the way for me now. Come on Farhad. get it done! Far better player than Stevie ever was and won a lot more too. the players will react and look up to him in the dressing room and want to play for him too! . let's get this done. VPs interview with Sky today was a disgrace. but I'm happy it happened as it really now shows him up for who he is and that we should really stay well clear of him. Not sure Rooney is ready just yet. so between him, Lampard and Ferguson I would go all out for Lamps . get it done Farhad!

Mishmack

1.) 26 Jan 2022 20:14:37
Love it MM, but stretch to far with the far better than Gerard was as a player point. Doesn’t matter though as Klopp was a sh! te player but wouldn’t mind his equivalent in our dugout ?.

16 Jan 2022 19:29:25
Re-recruiting Bobby brown shoes as manager again of Everton strikes me of more complete incompetence from our incompetent owner who is a lot to blame I think for the mess that we are currently in after 6 changes of manager. does he not realise that international football is completely different to club league football and that Martinez has not changed at all since he was sacked after we were left languishing in 15th place and not being able to defend for toffee. playing continually side-wise boring football and being humiliated in the derbies thrashings from the other side? I have an idea Mr Moshiri. how about you let the fans choose the new manager of the club we love so much as I'm sure with our knowledge of the game we can do somewhat better I say give it to Fergie mayb until the end of the season. & then take stick to see how he does and where he takes us. if no good. then go all out for Potter. or mayb even take a punt at Rooney as at least it would be a different approach from what we've had so far these past years. just don't go back for Bobby as it will only end in another phenomenal disaster I think. go back for Moyes yesss! But not Bobby. Potter for me, or Wayne 2nd choice!

Mishmack

1.) 16 Jan 2022 19:47:28
While Martinez wouldn't be my preference he did get us to 5th one season, broke our record points tally with 5 games to go, won 7 games on the bounce, did the double over Man Utd and got to 2 semi finals. He did all this without Moshiri's millions and put all the transfer money he had in buying Lukaku to the detriment of the back four. When you look at it he is much better qualified than the people you mention for the job.

2.) 16 Jan 2022 20:14:21
Fair point reg, problem is we have no money to buy defenders if Bobby comes back.

3.) 16 Jan 2022 20:26:08
He only got us forth with the team moyse built after that it was down to him getting us fifteenth, I heard he wouldn’t let anyone but him and his assistant in the dressing room with the team, so wouldn’t be my choice, but if it’s him I’ll get behind him because now we need unity more that anything else, I just hope I don’t have to ?.

4.) 16 Jan 2022 20:48:07
Big C, everything you say above is correct…. he got a better tune out of another man’s team (says a lot for the other man) gave us some pride back at being Evertonians, gave us our best Striker in a long long time then unfortunately lost the plot!
Just from my POV.

5.) 16 Jan 2022 21:02:02
How come the great Moyes couldn't break all them records with the same team the year before?

6.) 16 Jan 2022 21:03:34
Big C you got that absolutely right mate. . .

16 Jan 2022 17:56:18
J Burt from the telegraph now reporting that the Belgium FA have been contacted by Everton about us reappointing Roberto Martinez as manager! You heard anything Ed? Is this really happening? Not sure what to think here as I think we were lying in15th place in the table when we sacked Bobby last time from memory and also couldn't defend for toffee!

Mishmack

{Ed025's Note - i have heard nothing on bobby mishmack, we were good offensively with him but defended terribly, maybe he has improved on that area..

1.) 16 Jan 2022 18:03:08
Based on watching Belgium

Doesn’t look like he’s improved that much defensively or tactically

Also will never forgive him for taking us to court and for outing Baines for doing nothing wrong.

2.) 16 Jan 2022 18:39:03
Bobby for me is the right manager. We must remember he had not a lot of money and pumped it all into Lukaku. This meant he had to go to the bargain bucket to fill in other gaps. With money I think he'll get us playing some good football again.

We were on a bad run when he went but he'd got us to 2 semi finals and we still finished 11th. However, our fans thought he should be getting into the CL when really we were still a couple of years away.

I'd forgotten what everton looked like, when under moyes, when we attacked every opponent. Couldn't remember the last time we'd beaten and fairly, not fluckily getting a 1 nil win like under moyes, against the top teams.

Whoever comes in, and this is the same thing said when we get a new manager, we have to be patient and give him time.

Yes he was nieve defensively sometimes but he's done a great job with Belgium and I'd settle for 1th and 2 semi finals right now.

3.) 16 Jan 2022 18:50:52
Kenwright wants him back.

4.) 16 Jan 2022 19:17:43
I would have him if we had a good defence but we don’t.

I’d have him back in a shot…if it’s top 4/ 6 that is the aspiration of owner Moshiri then I couldn’t think of a better man for the job as for sure he’d get this bunch fighting for their shorts much more consistently and defending better too…add to that his astuteness in the transfer market not spending vast amounts…I really wonder sometimes what our club owner is thinking as all these big named men such as Koeman and Ancellotti have just jack all other than take a big pay day…I’m fully behind Benitez as I think he is ok apart from his zonal marking policy…but I can’t help but feel that he will end up like the rest of them…& if and when that day should arrive then Moyes in my opinion should be reinstated…but something tells me that even he wouldn’t now want to come back, why would he? After all he’s doing well enough where he is, has a new stadium and supportive owners and good set of fans that idolise him…whereas our owners showed no faith in wanting him back on the 3 occasions they had the chance to have him. so feel that ship has now sailed by.

I agree…could do a lot worse! Rather him than Rafa…at least we would have some footballing identity back at this club of ours.

Mishmack

{Ed0666's Note - you’d rather have martinez then Rafa??? Roberto Martinez???? I’m incredulous!
