Hi eds. do efc hold any intrest in tyler adams?
A few articles cropped up saying were interested, and just wondering if there's any truth.

{Ed002's Note - Tyler Adams (DM/RB) has attracted the interest of Arsenal with Manchester United asking his agent about availability – RBL will not be looking to sell but they will have to fend off an offer from Leeds who see him as a Phillips replacement. Leeds will return with an offer to take him on loan.}

26 Jun 2022 14:35:26
Eds are spurs interested in more than Richarlison? On there pod casts that they could be after Gordon or Godfrey?

{Ed025's Note - they can gladly take Godfrey for me. As long as we don’t get lumbered with winks..

1.) 26 Jun 2022 19:19:29
Is it true there is also a Saudi consortium intresin buying up ed.

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

2.) 26 Jun 2022 19:45:15
You don’t rate Godfrey then Ed025?

{Ed025's Note - when he first came ST I thought we had a star on our hands. But he has regressed terribly and become very negative. Every time he gets the ball he turns backwards and looks for Pickford and it does my bloody head in. I do believe there is a player in there somewhere mate but unless he grows a pair and sorts his game out I don’t want him anywhere near the first team ..

3.) 26 Jun 2022 22:29:51
ED25 do you really want Godfrey to leave for me he has all the attributes to be a top defender he struggled last season due to virul fatigue syndrome after catching C.V. but he showed us enough when he signed to show how good he can be.

{Ed025's Note - I gave him the benefit of the doubt over his long covid issues lamps. But it’s been almost 2years now and you can’t blame the pandemic for him turning backwards at every opportunity mate..

4.) 26 Jun 2022 22:31:21
Think your being harsh on Godfrey. Looked a real good player when we got him but imo C.V. then being put back in too soon knackered him.

{Ed025's Note - I have said that on more than one occasion PHH but that is wearing very thin now after 2 years. Maybe frank can get a tune out of him but he has to stop the negativity. We can’t afford anymore passengers mate..

5.) 27 Jun 2022 08:57:53
I agree with Ed, Michael Keane gets slated for every mistake he makes, last season Goddrey made just as many if not more yet everyone puts it down to CV. Saint-Maximin was in hospital wasn't he? Look at the level he has returned too. Not an excuse anymore.

6.) 27 Jun 2022 09:32:16
The defence came in for a lot of stick last season and rightly so.
Last season we had a manager who most fans didn’t want, got the sack and left us in a relegation battle.
I hope the new season starts with the fans giving all the players a clean slate to start with whether they be new signings or existing players.
With the pressure off ( for now) unless we get a repeat of last season, and with this manager should see some good football.
My concern at the moment is Ali, as mo st know there WAS a good footballer there in the past, and now what does he bring to the team.

7.) 27 Jun 2022 11:04:27
Each individual’s recovery from sickness will be different, there’s no sense in comparing one to another. The question is, can he kick on and be as good as we hoped? I don’t believe he’s a full back or a wing back, and was often used here. I’d be happy to give him another season to prove himself.

8.) 27 Jun 2022 11:28:13
Regarding Alli Brian21, every training video I've seen of him, he's more interested in doing some daft celebratory handshake with teammates than putting the graft in. There's definitely a player in there and hope he can get to the levels he was at when playing for spurs, but I'd rather go all out for a player like Eriksson, or find a quality AM from abroad or in championship. Personally I'd like Gordon to be given a go at AM.

9.) 27 Jun 2022 12:23:37
C.V., and in particular long C.V., affect different people in different ways. I had CV in December and I still haven’t returned to the fitness levels I was at pre CV. I struggle for breath still and experience a sudden onset of fatigue when running. A good friend of mine has had a terrible time - can’t lift his arms up and can’t walk unaided. Other people I know that had it are right as rain, so it could just be that Godfrey is one of those that has struggled to get back to fitness. Could also be a confidence thing knowing he’s not 100%.

10.) 27 Jun 2022 12:37:17
Dentielad, I agree with everything you say in that last post.

11.) 27 Jun 2022 13:51:28
It's all about opinions ED25 and I respect your view on Godfrey but disagree with it I think after a pre season with FL and his team he will be a different beast next season.

12.) 27 Jun 2022 14:44:49
Godfrey needs a run of games at CB. It's silly to play him on the right and on the left then expect him to be at the top of his game for the 5 or so games he plays at CB.

13.) 27 Jun 2022 15:53:39
I am normally with you all the way Ed25, but I think on the Godfrey one, I have to disagree mate, cannot disagree that his form dipped after coming back from injury, but my defence in the player I will list below.

Since coming into Everton, he has had to play right back, centre half, left back, pretty much everywhere, one week he has Keane alongside him, following week Mina, then back to Keane and Holgate, with Godfrey switched to a full back.

My personal feeling is Godfrey and Tarkowski might be the future pairing of our centre halves, depending how they both perform, they need to get a run of games together and kept in their centre back positions, on doing so, Godfrey will be stronger and better.

I know it is a bit harsh on Kean and Holgate, but with Mina a liability of playing a run of games, I personally think that Godfrey is for me our best centre half and hope for the future, not ideal but he is versatile as well to slot into the back four, if we hit an injury crisis in defence.

Godfrey is the one I would certainly keep, and see if he can get back to his early promise, too much of a utility player for me, to let go. sorry Ed25.

{Ed025's Note - it’s all about opinions in the end baz. He started off great but has regressed into a very negative player. When he gets the ball his first thought is to turn backwards and give it to Pickford mate. That may be symptom of the way we are playing but as a professional footballer you have to have more about you than that imo..

14.) 27 Jun 2022 16:33:38
Ed025 I have to agree with you on this one, he is not tall enough for CB and lacks that extra leap smaller CB's have, he was lucky he was a solid defender and adapted to the full back role better, he got England call ups but was only really ever back up, since his injury he has lacked confidence whether he can get that back well time tells but it will run out soon!
I do fear that Tarkowski is the next Keane or Godfrey, Everton signing players from relegated clubs!

{Ed025's Note - I just think evertonians make too many excuses for our underperforming players wakka. We cite injury, covid, confidence and any other thing we can think of to account for poor form. How about the real reasons? …overpaid, lazy, can’t be arsed and mollycoddled? Other clubs don’t accept it so why should we mate..

15.) 28 Jun 2022 00:30:21
Ed25, when you have a midfield like ours, I think I would turn back to Pickford as well, none of the midfielders last season offered to be open to a pass from our defenders, we gave so many silly goals away last season, with losing the ball with dithering on the ball, with lack of options to play a pass, quite a few of our defenders turned and played the ball to either another defender, or our goalkeeper.

If we can get our midfield sorted and keep to a steady defence without having to chop and change every week in defence, I honestly believe Godfrey will kick on again, no matter what happens though, our midfielders have simply got to give an option, for our defenders to pass to.

{Ed025's Note - I agree that our midfield did not help at all baz they were nothing short of awful. But sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns mate at least try and play football. I’m not giving up on Ben just yet but he has to step up to the plate if he wants to play at this level imo..

16.) 28 Jun 2022 15:18:12
I agree with you ed025, Godfry has went backwards big time and is no different to how Holgate has went past few years. He has pace and can tackle but his distribution, positioning and carrying the ball out of defence have been atrocious. If he has ‘long C.V.’ and it’s too blame for this then he shouldn’t be playing. This is elite football you’re either fit or your not. I would keep him for now as we can’t afford to replace him and the faults he has can be worked on.

{Ed025's Note - he needs to be coached properly joe. Why that has not happened I don’t know mate but in his present state he is neither use nor ornament to us I’m afraid..

25 Jun 2022 21:38:37
Silly question but have everton put there hat in the ring for matthaus nunes? Portugese papers saying we've tabled a 34m bid plus adds ons, which is strange considering we have no doe.
Or are we spending the richarlison money?

{Ed002's Note - Matheus Nunes (CM/DM) Manchester City, Newcastle and Spurs have all sent scouts but it has gone no further. Manchester United see him a financial more viable Matic replacement than other options. Wolves will look to add him if Neves is sold after losing out on Palhinha. His agent has offered the player to Barcelona. Everton interest was rebuffed last summer and whilst it still remains, a move to Everton seems unlikely and Wolves could win out after discussions. Player needs convincing about a move to England.}

1.) 26 Jun 2022 08:42:49
Thanks eds.

18 Jun 2022 16:31:23
Now linked with hamza choudary. Any interest eds?

{Ed002's Note - Hamza Choudhury (DM) Although West Brom are keen, they face Nottingham Forest (although not their preferred choice) and Middlsbrough to figure out a way forward.}

1.) 19 Jun 2022 12:31:56
Isn’t he an Iwobi mark 2?

2.) 19 Jun 2022 12:39:48
If he can’t get in Leicester’s team, is he good enough to get in ours? Is he any better than Davies?

3.) 19 Jun 2022 23:44:03
No no no no!

4.) 20 Jun 2022 09:37:42
Gents don't bother falling into the click bait trap we've been linked to so many players already we would would have a completely new team and have spent another £500m in the process of bringing them in. I am presuming that until we sell we won't be bringing in any players that are not either loans or free agents. Its a case of wait and see as the majority of free agents won't be available until July and the majority teams won't be back until then as well with Manager assessing squads before agreeing any loans. We can't do anything other than get frustrated at the speculation anyway so why bother.

5.) 20 Jun 2022 13:28:36
Totally agree sa90.
Seen loads of reports of us looking at getting Colwill, Gallagher, gilmour and Broja etc.
Most of the reports saying we’re looking to loan 2 or 3 of them due to franks connections.
Not sure how that would be possible as only able to loan 1 player from a team!
As you say majority is clickbait nonsense.

6.) 21 Jun 2022 09:24:44
It's a rumour site lads?.

7.) 21 Jun 2022 13:09:24
Agree Brass it is a rumour site - however when the rumours are we’re looking to take more than 2 player on loan from a club it’s clearly clickbait nonsense.

If they wanted you to follow their clickbait then surely would make more sense to have a believable rumour about 1 player on loan from Chelsea rather than reporting Everton are looking to loan 2 or 3 players from Chelsea ?.

09 Jun 2022 14:23:35
Is there any interest in Marc Roca. Seen he's moving on from bayern and would love him at everton.

{Ed002's Note - Marc Roca (DM) Offered to Real Madrid but they have a preferred option. Roma interest will go when Matic arives. West Ham and Leeds see him as a replacement for potential departures.}

Eds is there anything in this matheus perriera deal that's resurfaced.

{Ed002's Note - Not with Everton.}

10 Jul 2020 16:42:13
Eds I'm reading a bit on Manchester City and the thatvare confident with being exonorated by CAS.
My question is what will this do in regards to FFP? Will the rules be changed or relaxed?

{Ed002's Note - It won't do anything. There is no evidence that they did anything wrong - and this is all from years ago.}

1.) 10 Jul 2020 20:08:06
Of course they are confident.

2.) 10 Jul 2020 20:08:47
Must of been something otherwise why the ban.

02 Aug 2019 14:41:42
Ed's are there any truth in mbaye diagnes rumours. Just wondering as this seems to have come out of nowhere. Thanks for any info.

{Ed002's Note - Try searching.}

21 Jul 2019 12:38:13
Also moise kean not in the juve team. Everton bound maybe?

{Ed002's Note - Let's assume not.}

1.) 21 Jul 2019 16:12:25
I’m wondering if this one will ever happen. Reports saying Juve want a buy back clause that’s only a few million more than the transfer fee. There’s not much value In that deal. And it doesn’t really fit the profile of our recruitment policy of buying under 25 years for future squad investment.

Also with 3 weeks to go, it’s just a matter of time before a CL club looks at him and then we’re pretty much out of it.

{Ed002's Note - They are in talks with another club.}

2.) 21 Jul 2019 17:31:14
Then that just leaves Rafael Leão as a linked forward that has any legs, and that one is going to be a struggle with a lot of clubs interested.

Zaha is way beyond our price range. And players like Mandzukic too old. It’ll be interesting to see where the club turn their attention to next to improve the forward line.

3.) 21 Jul 2019 16:24:42
Is it Valencia Ed? Good strikers are hard to come by. We might just end up with DCL and Tosun with an older striker to make up the numbers.

{Ed002's Note - What?}

4.) 21 Jul 2019 19:53:56
Zouma not coming, CB's choice looks like Kean and Mina - was asked by smit to name a failure well Mina is it -. First game is 10th August, we currently have a weaker Squad than last Season. So far no striker coming in but for me we already have a striker, we have to run Tosun as an out and out striker, with the support and chances given by Bernard, Richarlison, Siggurdson then Tosun played properly will be our answer. Midfield if Gueye stays is plenty good enough. RB is a concern with backup needed for Coleman. Lots of outgoings (needed) but Squad depth is now poor.

5.) 21 Jul 2019 21:48:37
Are Valencia in for Kean?

{Ed002's Note - Wrong page.}

6.) 21 Jul 2019 23:14:02
Still 3 weeks BCT, and this time last summer we only had Richarlison signed. A lot can happen quickly. Improvements will be made I’m sure. I’m just at a loss as to who our real targets are.

7.) 22 Jul 2019 07:42:03
If you class Mina as a failure because he was injured then that is a bit harsh. He looked decent in most of the games he did play in, and it is hard to judge when he didn't get a run of games. For a player who was injured and considering it was his 1st season, I wouldn't expect too much more from him.
On that basis Tosun was a failure too last season.
We can't just call players a failure without giving them time.
As for Tosun, playing him up front on his own isn't playing to his strengths, he isn't quick enough and can't hold the ball up. Maybe you see something different to me though. He might be a decent striker in a 2 but I haven't seen any evidence he can do it as a lone striker.

Panic stations again for some on here. Personally I trust Marco to get us some quality signings in before the deadline.

Watch this space.

8.) 22 Jul 2019 13:07:33
I’d like To have seen Tosun and DCL up front together in pre-season. Tosun is a better finisher but DCL has pace and can hold the ball up. Problem then would be dropping a DM and I’d be worried about our defence.

9.) 22 Jul 2019 19:51:31
Mina was brought in on the strength of his goal against us. He has been awful. Tosun does not need to hold the ball up he is a penalty area player and we have the width and No10 to feed him. He should not have to come looking for the ball, that is not his talent.

10.) 22 Jul 2019 22:38:13
Wrong Bill. Walsh would buy a player because he scored against us but not Marco.
I'm not sure which Everton you watch but Tosun like DCL would need to hold the ball up, he's too slow to counter attack with our other pacey players and who is going to cross it into him?
I think you are probably longing for the Allardyce way to play but we don't play like that.
We are a counter attacking team like it or not.
We press and attack or counter attack. Tosun just can't cope with that way of playing.

11.) 23 Jul 2019 07:41:00
Every home game mate. We were awful against Leicester then Tosun came on (to late) , Bernard moved right, crossed and Tosun was unlucky with his effort (penalty area) . Wide men press, Tosun penalty area, watch him playing for Turkey or when he was at Besiktas. He is a very good player.

12.) 23 Jul 2019 18:03:49
He didn't play up front on his own for Besiktas.
He isn't good enough to play in our squad or formation.
The only person who doesn't see that is you.
He was an Allardyce purchase for the kick and go brigade and we aren't that anymore.
Move on, sell him and let's find someone who is better.

09 Jul 2019 16:56:13

Winks can pass a ball, ill say that, but he's not the best defensively. in my opinion we still need a proper defensive mid to play alongside him.
Sangarre, Diawara from Roma, Dominic kohr . types of player i'd like to see us target.

Ciacina to be fair mate I've always been a more than a little sceltical, more so with silva than koeman granted.
I don't think were going to go and spend a load of money, we ll not to the degree we have been but i think well offload the players we have with some commercial value who are surplus, say siggurdson, schneiderlein and plus a few others and we will have some money to spend.
one thing i do think is we will spend wisely, i can't see up signing 50m+ players but i can see us signing players who are underrated and have the potential to develop. basically brands needs to earn his corn this summer, he needs to be spot on.

ToffeeDavey, we have an rich successful accountant who runs the club, if anybody knows how to handle FFP it will be him, spend and keep us out of UEFA's bad books it will be him.

I think we will see a few incomings and outgoings, possibly not A list superstars but definitely good underrated players who can be improved. Centre mid (possibly mids if we sell both Sig and Schneiderelin and god i hope we get sangare as he's class) , centreback, right mid and right back all need to be strengthened plus let's be real, there is no way Ancelotti would have come to us if couldn't build a team to compete. The guys a winner and i can't see him signing on to a project if there finances were not available to strengthen the side no matter how much we pay him.
Summers is going to be exciting i reckon. in Brands and Ancelotti we trust.

Silva has said a centreback, winger and if time permits a rb, str and another cm. and this was after the game yesterday so not sure if it includes kean and apparently bid on doucoure. going to be an interesting 4 days.

Sangare is class, as good defensively as Gana but better with the ball, but unless brands can be a tad persuasive I think hell move to a club playing European football.
Personally like him or Benaccer.
Defensive wise i'd take either stark or elvedi, all day long.

Be interesting to see what strikers we get linked with the mitravic and welbeck rumours have cooled off?
