James stays so now is the time for him to knuckle down and earn his place in the team. The fella is talented and can create chances with the right movement around him. I just feel with the way Rafa has started with wingers and movement into the box from midfield that he can create chances. If he isn't a starter then surely coming off the bench it's not a bad option to have.

1.) 01 Sep 2021 01:27:23
Can he play left or right back, or does he just play left out?

2.) 01 Sep 2021 07:39:02
He plays right back on the bench 😁.

3.) 01 Sep 2021 09:44:20
Regarding James. If the guy wants a move in January then it is in his interests to put a fit and firing James in the window. The fat and sulking James is going to attract the same number of takers as he has in this window. Don't know about anyone else, but I could cope with watching him fit and at his best.

4.) 01 Sep 2021 11:22:10
At the start of last season people were drooling over the guy, and it was clear he was our most creative midfielder by some distance. Blokes now been told he is not wanted at the club, and people are surprised he has switched off.
We now have a better balance to the team, our right side is stronger since Townsend joined, even though we still didn't secure a new right back. With Allan and Dacoure in midfield we still have a spot behind DCL for a creative midfielder.
Over to you Rafa.

Gonna be a late one I reckon. going to go for a guess that we get 3 in. Who I don't know, just a guess.

1.) 31 Aug 2021 17:38:43
This is Everton be prepared for disappointment! But listen the signings we have already are looking great value at this stage!

28 Aug 2021 16:58:37
The difference under Benitez so far this season as opposed to Ancellotti last season.
Last season we would have camped out in our own half all second half and tried to bore our way to the 1 nil, today we continued to attack and look for more goals to kill off the game rather than see out the game.

{Ed0666's Note - the humble pie in Asda must be sold out in the blue half of merseyside. The humiliation and barbs that classy man has had to endure from naysayers and the vast majority of Everton fans and to combat it all with grace is a testament to the guy. He does his talking on the pitch mate and good luck to him and Everton.

1.) 28 Aug 2021 17:57:29
As he said he doesn't talk the talk he walks the walk.

2.) 28 Aug 2021 18:03:08
Wouldn't say the majority mate. Would say a minority but the majority of those just being tribal idiots. Happens at all Clubs. Fortunate for Rafa that we have a relatively round about us fixtures before we meet the big boys, giving Rafa time for his methods to bed in.

3.) 28 Aug 2021 17:40:17
Sorry Ed0666 I don’t believe it was the “vast majority” it was a few idiots who didn’t want Benitez and were behaving ridiculously about his appointment (banner, graffiti etc. )
Think you need to give your head a wobble if you genuinely think it was the “vast majority”, then again it’s probably just your red tinted glasses.

{Ed0666's Note - ok mate I’ll retract the ‘’vast majority’’ quote to make you’re weekend go better

4.) 28 Aug 2021 18:11:16
Was it an online survey or you been out door to door Ed? What sort of percentage we talking about when you say the 'vast majority' of Everton fans that have humiliated and sent barbs Rafas way?

{Ed0666's Note - you’re right Davey I didn’t conduct a census of Everton fans and I was crazily out of order for saying ‘vast majority’of Everton fans. Please forgive my faux pas I’ll try not to sensationalize my editing again.

5.) 28 Aug 2021 18:50:15
There was a poll on here ( when they were searching) 40% wanted him - 60% others. Or on flip side more wanted benetiz than anyone else.

6.) 28 Aug 2021 19:08:59
No problem Ed - the main thing is you're a big enough man to admit when you've been wrong and hold your hands up. Apology accepted mate - thanks very much.

7.) 28 Aug 2021 19:35:07
Ed0666 I have been advocating for Benitez ever since we got rid of Martinez. Regardless of his past I have always known he is a very good tactical manager/ coach and somebody we have been crying out for, for years.

28 Jun 2021 09:39:28
The banner outside Rafa's house makes me embarrassed to be an Evertonian and have these so called 'supporters' put in the same bracket!
If you are against the appointment then fine but to make pathetic banners with threats is absolutely vile.

1.) 28 Jun 2021 10:04:09
Completely agree, its distasteful and degrading for the whole fanbase. Putting 'threatening' bedsheets up is pathetic! its a shame that the minority affects us all.

2.) 28 Jun 2021 10:06:58
Totally agree, disgusting behaviour. It's very easy to kid ourselves as fans that we are better than the rest. This just goes to prove that when pushed we have the same vile minority of fans that everyone else does.

We are just lucky that the Euros are on, and that the press barely give a hoot about Everton, because if this was our neighbours it would have been all over the front pages this morning.

3.) 28 Jun 2021 10:07:21
Absolutely despicable isn't it. If I was him I'd say enough is enough and walk away, threatening the family home is a total disgrace. We'd be back to square one with the manager hunt but I'm passed caring about that really, more arsed about the vile abuse already being directed at a thoroughly decent human being. Embarrassed to be an Everton fan.
If he does decide to take the job still the club need to do the right thing and immediately get big dunc and a couple of other respected blues out in the media bigging up the appointment.

4.) 28 Jun 2021 10:13:06
As an evertonian I am embarrassed by the actions of whoever did this. You can voice concerns and make an impact without threats.

The idiots who have done this however, are so soft they put the banner outside the wrong house!

5.) 28 Jun 2021 10:39:31
Totally unforgivable

All I've heard of him is that he is a decent man but actually, even if he wasn't, this type of behavior is unacceptable

I'm sure we all apologise for the behavior of a few morons who are simply not Everton.

{Ed025's Note - very much so bw..

6.) 28 Jun 2021 11:35:12
Shows how out of touch people are; Brexit, C.V., climate failure, drugs, deforestation, the ice-capades, racism, sexism, homaphobism, child exploitation and yet some nob head feels that who the everton manager is, is a worthy protest. Secondly, I have to question the committment, serious ness and capabilities of those involved. Indeed i'm inclined to think if the best they can muster is a manky old bed sheet, they can be that serious, so why bother. Which leads me to believe that this person has commitment issues. and that alone makes me have no respect for them.

7.) 28 Jun 2021 11:50:12
agree with posts above its totally unacceptable not nice for his family what have they done from what i hear his wife is a great charity worker in the city so just the minority spitting out the dummys and am not certainly in that bracket i would love it for rafa to come in and kick start us again just childish don't mind peoples opinions that's one thing but the banners just pathetic.

8.) 28 Jun 2021 12:26:47
Whilst everyone is intitaled to their opinion, a Very small minority of people who appose Rafers appointment are actively dragging our club into disrepute, and if any of these people are identified, they should be permently excluded from the ground.
However, those media outlets that have been propergating the lie about a wide spread backlash against the apiontment must also take some responsibility for the actions of these idiots.

9.) 28 Jun 2021 12:41:20
Life bans for them all.

10.) 28 Jun 2021 12:59:58
Who ever put this banner up deserves to be prosecuted, it’s a threat to him and his family, what sort of a club and city are we, I’m embarrassed to be an Everton supporter at this moment in time, the man is being brought in to hopefully do a great job for us, players and managers come and go just like in other walks of life.
I really hope he signs and prove all those knuckle dragging Rafa out banner idiots wrong.

We should be going all out to get him as he is 100 times better than Kenny and can be a starter ahead of Coleman.

I've said Rafa was the man for Everton after we got rid of Koeman. As for being a cup manager, a club like ours who haven't won a cup in 26 years could do with a cup manager really. Some of our fans have never seen us lift a trophy, we need stability and a tactician to get the best out of let's say limited resources. Rafa done this at Newcastle, forget his Liverpool past, beggars can't be choosers and at this moment in time with the squad we have, we are not an exciting proposition for managers.

Have to say Rafa for me. Still lives on the Wirral and is a very good tactician.

Totally agree with everything he said and he's right. These 6 clubs have no consideration for their own fans and are just in it solely for the money. Would love the league to now stand up and do what Neville suggested and deduct them points and hit them were it hurts by reducing their income from this season.
