If we sign Tosun are we likely to go after another forward like Dembele. Are we still after a player who can play left back and left side centre back or purely a left back. Any info on targets.

Blueboy85

{Ed025's Note - sam apparently wants a forward, centre mid, and a left back BB, i expect him to get tosun and possibly nzonzi but im unsure about the left back mate..

1.) 29 Dec 2017 01:15:20
The lad Joe Bryan from Bristol seems to be getting talked about.

2.) 28 Dec 2017 23:11:14
Van Aanholt most likely ed.

{Ed025's Note - sam is a big fan of his swan, i have to say im not but what do i know mate..

3.) 28 Dec 2017 23:18:18
Two nice signings there ED025 if we get them.

{Ed025's Note - very much so grumpy..

Nzonzi looked really good for Sevilla and I know nothing about Tosun but all the reports are that he is a really good player.

Nzonzi, Gana, Schneiderlein (the version from last year) , Davies, Sigurdsson (if he plays deeper) , Rooney (if he continues to play deeper) , Baningime, McCarthy (if he ever gets fit) and Klaasen (if he adapts to the Premier League) , - there are some really good options of differing types and a basis for a strong central midfield there.

Likewise Tosun (if he turns out to be as good as it sounds like he could be) , Calvert-Lewin and Sandro (if he adapts to the Premier League) provide some varied options which could form the basis of a promising attack.

Some "ifs" attached to a few of the players but we have a good coaching setup at the club at the moment with Allardyce, Lee, Shakespear and the personnel that were there before they arrived so I am hopeful and confident that quite a few of those ifs can be overcome.

I still believe that while we have a poorly constructed squad that is making Allardyce's job difficult (and cost Koeman his) we still have plenty of good players within it. A few quality additions to address the inbalance and glaring gaps (a young left back being the most obvious) could make a huge difference.

Is there any connection between N'zonzi going off and Seville coming back from 0-3 down?

6.) 29 Dec 2017 16:12:53
Interesting quotes about N'zonzi from Allardyce:

“I would take Steven N’Zonzi tomorrow. He is one of my better buys in my lifetime, only €650,000 from France to Blackburn Rovers. He became young player of the year and player of the year in his first season at Blackburn Rovers when we finished tenth. He was a terrific pinch out of the French leagues and has gone on to do terrific things in his career. For me, knowing him from that age and knowing him now, yes I would like him but with the amount of midfield players I have at the moment I’d have to move some player out to bring a player like Steven in. ”

I wonder if that translates to he won't be coming or that someone will be moving on (assuming N'zonzi wants to come to Everton) ? McCarthy, Besic, Schneiderlein, Gana are the obvious like for like to be potentially improved upon by N'zonzi's arrival with the first 2 the more likely to leave I would think. Perhaps Barkley's (likely) exit is the one out but that would be losing a predominantly attacking midfield option for a more defensive option.

Who are we looking at as a striker option, think Callum Wilson would be a good signing, proven in the premier league and would suit our style of play. I know we have been linked with William Jose from Real Sociedad in the past, is he still of interest to us? Another forward I think we should consider is Belotti from Torino, quality forward who was linked to some major European clubs a couple of years ago who I think would score plenty of goals for us. Are any of these realistic options for us to be able to sign.

If wer just picking players names out for striker I would like us to go for haller or simeone, think simeone could be realistic with the season fiorentina just had.

Is Silva the only name under consideration or is Brands going through a number of candidates. Are we likely to pull off a surprise appointment like Arsenal with Emery. Is Phillip Cocu in the running with his links to Brands or wouldn't PSV allow it.

Don't think Brands would have the cheek to try and bring Cocu even if he was his preferred choice. He wouldn't do that to PSV.

What is the situation regarding Garbutt's eligibility to play in first team. I know he was not named in 25 man squad but neither is Tosun and he played. Is it different because he is new signing so will Garbutt have to wait and see if he is named in revised squad. Surely if he was eligible he would be playing before Martina. Have you heard any rumours about a left back as this is the position we needed filling the most and I have read or heard nothing.

Squad size needs reducing and Lame Same has said he will look at him. Expect departures and maybe two more in.

2.) 16 Jan 2018 07:17:41
Blueboy I'm disgusted reg this Garbutt thing when Sam was asked about him last week he said I haven't seen him he doesn't train with the first team and he has until the end of Jan to impress me well Jesus Sam we need a LB you have one in the u23s he should of been moved and reg on the 1st Jan as for squad size yes it needs trimming but 2 have gone Barkley and Mirrallas and 1 brought in it's a problem does Sam not trust the coaches if he hasn't seen him ask them isn't that why they are there at least that way Sam could see if he was any good massive oversight by Sam and the first team coaches if you ask me.

Laurent Blanc won the league as manager of Bordeaux. He took over a French team that had imploded at 2010 World Cup so is used to managing big egos and the season he left PSG they didn't win the league after winning it every season under Blanc. He is a far superior and more experienced manager than anybody else we have been linked with and don't feel we would be taking a chance on him like Dyche or Silva. As far as I am concerned, this is a no brainer and can't believe he has not even been discussed.

Blueboy85

1.) 08 Nov 2017 08:02:38
He's also someone who probably wouldn't touch us with a bargepole at the moment.

2.) 08 Nov 2017 19:56:13
Agree blue Tommy. As much as I'd like to have blanc or simeone it's just not going to happen.

07 Nov 2017 19:01:38
Why has Laurent Blanc not been mentioned. Worked at highest level and is available immediately. More chance of him coming than Simeone and much better credentials than Dyche, Allardyce or Silva.

Blueboy85

{Ed025's Note - i dont know to be honest Bb, i think its a good shout myself mate..

1.) 07 Nov 2017 19:43:23
