a web site reporting that us and Spurs are interested in the services of Christien Eriksen, with other sources stating that 10 million would be enough for the cut price deal, due to his contract expiring at the end of the season. It's a long shot, but if Lars Jacobsen puts in a good word for us, you never know.

Blue Heat

1.) Hmm Spurs or Everton, that's a tough decision for him (NOT).Even being a big optimist i'd be amazed if he chose us.Thats also not including half of europe that are also after him!

2.) Seem no need mate. We have Ross already.

3.) Mirallas chose us over Arsenal, down to playing time, and they were in the Champions league. Look how many midfielders spurs have, defiantly worth a try, even if the odds are very slim.

4.) Ohhh and the 10 million was euros, apologies for the weird question mark, first time poster

5.) I hope spurs sign him, we should go after holtby (its a world cup year any player hoping to make their national teams needs to be playing regular first team football this season). That's what I do if I was in RMs shoes anyway.

Diego Simeone has to be a leak to say 'we tried' just before the big sam annoucement. But has got me thinking what's the biggest shock managerial annoucement you know off? Dare I say Klopp to the dark side.

Blue Heat

1.) 07 Nov 2017 21:39:04
Klopp is very likeable but he's not exactly been a beacon of success at the dark side to be fair.

Around the doom and gloom in present times, can we switch our attention to the positives of Oumar Niasse. Even after the way he has been treated, he has never said a bad word about Everton FC, just got his head down and worked hard. That goal of his on Sunday wasn't gifted ability but just pure determination to get us back in the game at a time when some players and fans would have said'just another defeat'. A real inspiration outside and inside the club, i'm not kidding when I say this but I'd rather have Niasse than Lukaku, especially when we have such talented group of youths coming through the ranks and can inspire to work that little bit harder. A real pleasure to have Niasse in the strip of the people's club.

{Ed025's Note - i must say heart that i agree with most of that, the guy is not blessed with the most ability but what he lacks there he certainly makes up for in effort and determination, im very impressed with his fitness and application as well mate..

Reminds me of big Denis Stracqualursi not a superstar but had the heart of a champion and gave it his all!

Greetings to all fellow blues and Eds, thought I'd start a little discussion on transfers, with Naismith departing, which striker would you like to see realistically bring in considering all circumstances. A priority I think myself in case Lukaku get's injured (touch wood) I don't personally fancy Kone leading the line haha. Oh and I know the league is a little disappointing this season and we have our problems but hey imagine a cup double!

I'd like a punt on Andre Gray from Burnley. Very promising player.obviously there is more expensive and better strikers, but seems as though Martinez is all about the future for his teams, then Gray is worth a shout.

2.) 20 Jan 2016 12:35:07
At the price he'd cost - surely well upwards of £10M - I don't think bringing in Andre Gray could be regarded as a punt. I'm not saying he wouldn't prove his worth, but it'd be a heck of a gamble for us at that price.

3.) 20 Jan 2016 17:10:32
Dembele from Fulham.

I'm one of these that doesn't believe in sacking a manager and giving him time but I have to say Martinez's decisions are costing us points. To start Kone is a disgrace, we are already playing with 10 men before a whistle is blown. If we lose Lukaku, which I truly do think is going to happen in the summer, where are we going to be without his goals. I'm starting to feel worried, to me we have a very strong team and yet others are surpasseing us with the clear intention of improving as a football club, leaving us to slide down the table. Apparent from a keeper and the obvious lone, I can'tell see where our team needs to improve through players given our financial and attraction state.

Blue Heat

1.) 28 Dec 2015 18:07:46
Where we need to improve are u having a laugh? We need a keeper, centre back, midfield general, left sided player and a good back up striker. But most of all a new manager.

2.) 28 Dec 2015 23:58:46
Oh okay and can you give me some names that 1. That would be financial viable and 2. That would come to our club that is sinking down the table, need to be realistic, our current squad should be more than capable of breaking into the top 6 easily.

Don't we have Chelsea on the 30th August? Knowing Mourinho, he will hold out till deadline day if there is any chance of signing Lukaku. But in my opinion, Drogba has been brought back as a player coach to help Lukaku progress, very similar in attacking styles.

City and chelsea were throwing money around pre finacial fair play, so that is very different.

Arn playes in a striker position and only scored 11 goals? Rooney got 10 in a deeper position and we are on the verge of selling him! I just don't believe he's that good and I've watch him play a lot, has a can't be arsed attitide when the going gets tough. I am totally open to disagreement and welccome your views as we want the same outcome. Great post by the way of the person who touted Runen Neves a few years back, that's a perfect example signing of who, I believe we need (everything permitting) . Either we retain a fantastic player or sell, make profit, reinvest and make little steps forward each season. My point is that money does need to be spent I agree, I just believe it can be spent better. I believe we will always be behind the top clubs if we spend on individualism rather than those who slot in to the managers system. Ohh to those who say you can't understand the finances so just spend seems a very hypocritical statement, this isn't a who's right or wrong it's a discussion thread, everyone has different opinions but are welcomed.

Arnie would be a terrible signing. Heres, in my opinion why, it outlays exactly what is wrong with our recruitment at the moment. Paying big bucks for a 29 year that is not going to improve than is current performances is not intelligent business at all. I hate it when the sentence comes from a fan 'I don't care how much the club pays, it's not my money' That's plain arrogance as it is a factor to how much your club can progress.

Everything within a club contributes to a teams success. So for example, if every transfer is a hit, a hit being the players have performed well and their value has risen. This will contribute, if only a little to the clubs overall success for that season and then the target boundaries can improve and so on and so on. So spending cash willy nilly, especially on a player that is very inconsistent, not just at West Ham but at his previous clubs is not ideal. I believe, for his position, there are better players for the money being asked.

Can't get them players? Then we look to youth or just play Lookman which I think is much better option and then invest the 50 mill or however much in other areas to obtain a greater return on investment that will allow our club to push forward. Training facilities, if as little as rewarding staff with a little extra pay and motivating them to give EFC there all, it all adds up.

Just think people should be looking a little deeper than what's on the surface and past one season thinking. There are restrictions to our spending so we have to maximise the benefits from all signings. Evidence of what i'm talking about are clubs like Leeds.

This was on ssn earlier, still think it is going to take a while for a done deal, if it happens

£10 mil is way below Torino's valuation of the player, with other top european clubs also interested, seems highly unlikely, unfortunately.

The performance wasn't great but not the worst this season, Salah should have scored, I believe 0-0 draw was the best result we could have come away with today as we didn't create any clear cut chances. There was a lot of evidence of tactics not coming off and a lot of work still needed to be done on the training ground. I think the result is disguised more favourable because of the position it leaves Liverpool. The worrying thing, for me, is that it seems Silva still isn't sure what his strongest 11 is and the gameplan he is trying to deploy on the field.

I highly disagee, nobody was deemed much of a success apart from the likes of Rashford and Martial. One bad game for the red devils and it's "off with their heads" Their expectations are set at such a high level. I think with the right style of play and tactics, Schweinsteiger could be a real assett to a premier league team (if kept fit) . Look at Gareth barry, pace is not his forte but it's the way he reads the game and Schweinsteiger is one of the best in the world at doing that. Dependant on Koeman's plans I think he could be coup for EFC if ever it were to happen.

Didn't West Ham have a terrible pre season last year and I don't think many Hammers fans would complain on their final league position or the team performances that was put on display. We have what we have, nobody knows how the season will turn out, let's just relax, and stop putting a plastic bag of pressure over the head of Everton football club.

Got to agree with Ed025, Moyes speciallises with bringing the best out of team that relies more on hard work and turns them into a team that are tough to beat but is missing that little bit extra when trying to compete with other big clubs that have a top manager.
