I think Lukaku will stay but if he is to go he has to be in the same bracket as Griezman or Rodrigez who are big money players it would have to be a huge bid to take him as a replacement won't come cheap hope we can keep him and throw a bid in for Augero to help him out would be nice.

1.) 07 Feb 2017 19:40:37
I hope not, but I for one think he will go witch will be a big shame. He has always said depending on new signings so let's hope we get them in the summer.

2.) 07 Feb 2017 20:08:03
Aguero will never happen, Lukaku may stay provided he feels the club is headed in the right direction and could meet up with his high expectations. I think the cull that has just happened may go some way to showing him we do have good intentions. This summer will be a vital step in our Future.

3.) 07 Feb 2017 23:43:46
Unfortunately this link was always going to creep back up providing Rom delivered. and he has. Let's hope he feels we are heading in the right direction for him, him to show some. loyalty and/ or we did the promise him anything stupid/ unrealistic in the summer gone for him to stay for another season ie. Champions League this season/ sign unrealistic players etc.

4.) 08 Feb 2017 11:00:09
Can you remember Lukaku saying to Terry I will be back next season? Don't care how good a player is, no one is bigger than our club, he thinks he is to good for us? but we must make Chelsea pay BIG.

5.) 08 Feb 2017 12:43:21
Don't think Aguero will ever happen. As much as I'd like to see Lukaku stay I have to agree with every word stig says above also.

6.) 08 Feb 2017 12:44:14
When will the day come that Lukaku is given some credit for staying at our club? He has been linked with big moves in the last 3/ 4 windows. I'm pretty sure it was all very open when he stayed in the summer. It was clearly reported he had promised to give another year and depending upon how the team competed, he'd revisit this at the end of the current season. He signed a contract extension when he didn't need too. for the club to get a better transfer fee? He smashes in the goals and still gets negative comments. We turned down (reportedly) a lot of money for him, he will sell for a ridiculous fee.
I'd like him to stay but if he goes? He goes with my respect. Great player that deserves to be playing year in year out in the CL. Unfortunately EFC are probably a few years away from being able to give him the stage he craves and deserves, get real some of you! Get off his back.

7.) 08 Feb 2017 13:28:24
Nice shot Blue76 Fully agree.

8.) 08 Feb 2017 16:05:54
Blue76 hold on a second. No one that i see is having a go at Lukaku. Stig makes some very valid points above. I love Lukaku and would love him to stay. As stig says no player is ever bigger than the club so if he wants to go let him go. There was a lot of noise about him going. Ever since his first season here. He never done anything to silence it and even changed his agent to a reputable manipulater.

Look at Coleman. Came out in the last week of transfer window just gone by that Utd wanted him. What does Coleman do? Silences it straight away by saying he was not aware of it. Coleman comes across and always has as being totally and utterly devoted to Everton. Loyal to the cause. Never heard any comments from him that he wants to win trophies and that he wants to play under the top managers. Even when the fraud was here. Coleman is a prime example of a true professional who if he wanted to could manipulate stories and come across like he thinks he's above all other players at Everton. He never did.

You say Lukaku signed a contract for the good of Everton. That really made me chuckle Blue76. He signed that contract because he significant benefitted from it as well. How much of a pay rise did he get? Don't kid yourself. There are players who come across grateful for the opportunity and to play for Everton. I used Coleman as an example. Baines is another good one. Could of left to Utd when Fellaini did but he stayed loyal.

Lukaku on the other hand just doesn't come across as this type of player. For the record I'm a big supporter of Lukaku's and have been since day one. Applaud his goals, give him praise. Say its fantastic to have him in our squad. But when it comes down to who I support more the club or Lukaku the club wins every time. Lukaku never had the respect for the club to come out and silence the media after comments he made while on international duty. Like a certain Coleman had when there was stories about him.

Stig sums it up nicely for me. No player bigger than the club. Don't care if he eventually turns out to be the best player of all time. If he truely thinks he is too good for Everton let him go. As stig says get a BIG fee for him and wish him good luck. Otherwise show the respect our great club deserves, do your stuff on the field and keep your gob shut about playing for anyone except Everton.

9.) 08 Feb 2017 17:00:33
The usual waffle there from NBTB. go back to ya Daily Mail. It's fans like you that really make people laugh. You think you know the full ins and outs? You're hanging a guy because of speculation? Speculation that will never go away? Because he is one of the best young strikers around? Why don't you step back and judge him by his actions? He is still here, after all the papers say he's leaving. He's still smashing in the goals even though some fans mouth off. He is likely in the crazy times, worth far more than we're paying him. So what if he got a pay rise too? Your point is bitter and irrelevant. His interviews are ALWAYS respectful about the club, team mates and fans. Why should he comment on fabrications? It's almost as if you want to play the martyr? Not sure he has done anything that deserves the glib, common nonsense reply: not bigger than the club. He hasn't ever done anything derogatory to EFC. Again I sign off with: get real.

10.) 08 Feb 2017 17:54:43
Get real yourself Blue76. You made out that he signed the contract with no benefit for himself. That it was entirely for the clubs benefit. You then tell other people to get real? Good one Blue76. You get very personal there in your reply. No need for that. You don't have the first idea of the 'type' of supporter I am.

Obviously haven't read to many of my posts or have not been reading them for too long. If you have you would see that 99% of the time I stick up for players when they get stick. On this occasion I won't stick up for Lukaku. Because who else at the club has the amount of media coverage about leaving? A lot of that is down to Lukaku.

Never once have i claimed to 'know' the full ins and outs of the club. Daily mail? what's that? Seems as though you think I believe everything in the paper. Think again, just go to the rumours page where I wrote a post on LUKAKU saying the paper wrote thrash before any of these posts. Whether the media are right or wrong with the rumours Lukaku should come out and tell the truth. Just like Coleman done. No truth to his rumours but he had the decency to come out and squash it straight away.

What next Blue76 are you going to claim to know what underwear I'm wearing, how I look and what I do?

11.) 08 Feb 2017 19:04:10
I've been reading these pages for years.

12.) 08 Feb 2017 20:25:21
Selective reading more like.

13.) 09 Feb 2017 00:52:47
Just like to add lads no contract extension has been signed, his agent came out and stated it was 99.9% done but it has never been confirmed by either Rom, his agent or our club for that matter.

At the end of this season he will have 2 years remaining on his current contract so the summer will be the last chance we have to demand big bucks if we decide to sell.

14.) 09 Feb 2017 08:47:48
I don't understand where this bickering has come from. NBTB for me is one of the most rational, positive posters on here in my opinion, so it's a bit unfair to write his posts off as "usual waffle".

As regards Lukaku, I firmly believe that he is generally respectful and professional. When he wants to go he just gets on with playing, doesn't sulk and scores lots of goals. His agent is the bad influence.

However, the main reason that he didn't leave in the summer was because no-one wanted to pay £70m for him. We need to either get him to sign a contract now or cash in, as he won't be worth that amount with a year left on his contract. I just hope we can make top 4 and keep him, because unless Walsh pulls a rabbit out his hat Rom and his goals are pretty much irreplaceable.

15.) 09 Feb 2017 09:17:29
Jeers for that Blue Tommy. Blue76 is entitled to his opinion. I've been called a lot worse than a waffler so it doesn't bother me at all. Agree with your post.

16.) 09 Feb 2017 11:01:12
According to talksport Mino Raiola has said that Lukaku will sign a new deal and is going nowhere. Great news if true. If we don't manage to make CL this season we may have a good chance next season with Lukaku.

Car to wait for the match tonight expect a great atmosphere inside the old lady tonight . Rk is such a good manager he has told the team what standard he expects and he won't carry passengers and won't defend players who don't play well he absolutely commands respect from his players he comes out and says it how it is, no trying to gloss things over like Rm.

he is a born winner just check out the guys' stats as a player and is already trying to install that mentality into our team. If he can keep us competitive until January, expect mr moshiri to get the check book out in a big way.

think Barclay will be on the bench today as Rk makes the big decisions and we the fans must fully support him as we are lucky to have such a quality manager.

Rm has got to go I would be suprised if they let him face the fans in the last game we just don't look like we want to be there.

I agree with you but who knows what the Board are actually thinking. I was one that thought he would start next season but after the performance against Liverpool and now this absolutely abject performance against Leicester who had already won the League and looked to me like they were not even in first gear, it is very hard to see how even Mr Kenwright can justify keeping him on board. It is not even worth it in my opinion again to keep him after today.

2.) 07 May 2016 19:31:39
Bill kenwright the chairman should sack him, Bill Kenwright the evertonian should of sacked him months ago, Martinez is a absolute joke of a manager and it gets worse by the game pathetic. PS well done sunderland for staying up lol.

Ed just checked out the list of targets we are meant to be interested in and would have to say I would not swap lukaku for any of them . He is the first 20 goal a season striker we have had in years is 22 years old and under contract . Unless we can bring in a top class replacement we should hold firm the way we did with stones and tell the lad and his agent he is not going anywhere do you think this is possible or do youse in the know no different?

Am8s

{Ed025's Note - i really like him as a player AM8 but if the guy does not want to play for us then i dont want him here, raiola has put it in his head that he needs CL footy and im afraid if he wants to go he will, im not sure on his contract details but we cant afford to just let him sit and stew so my guess is he will be gone come summer mate..

Can anyone tell me which youngsters have gone out on loan and to which clubs. I enjoy looking out for these lower league teams with our boys in. let's hope they all progress for the experience.

RK is a top manager he has took his time to asses his squad and see who is at the level required to be a success in the PL . He will now no what most of us Evertonians have since mid way through last season we have an absoulte average squad which needs strengthening all over take away stones good player not world class and lukaku also just above average and what do you see Barclay is the only recognisable name there and he is still miles away from having the consistincy to be a major player.

this leaves us with the usual suspects Besic McCarthy cleverly Gibson mirrales kone even Baines and Coleman have been under par average keepers and a bunch of untried kids make up are squad anyone who watched the two friendlies in Germany would have noticed how short we are in midfield. Its time for RK to start making some serious moves to up the quality.

A cf is the main priority someone on these pages came up with a great idea of selling stones to the mancs and taking martial of them better than taking Bony of city will be interacting to see what happens as RK now knows the size of the job he has just took on.

How much longer do you think we will have to wait for stones and lukaku to decide where they're moving to. Do you think our own deals hinge on them moving first as we don't seem to be very active yet?

Am8s

1.) 24 Jul 2016 10:22:26
I think the club have decided to cash in on Stones as the money being spoken about is insane for a player who in reality has achieved nothing, and decent defenders are out there for the taking. I reckon they'll dig their heels in over Lukaku and price him out of a move. 20 goals a season strikers are as rare as hen's teeth and he would be the more difficult of the two to replace.

2.) 24 Jul 2016 10:35:05
Stones to citeh will be this week. As far I know roms not going anywaare this year. Heard he's going to give it one more year to see if we progress.
Also him and his agent have been quiet so signs are good.

Am8s giving to much credit there mate. Didn't take a genius to realise what was going on. All Ed002 does is apply a dose of commonsense. Some of us (myself included) need some of Ed002's sometimes cutting comments to bring us back down to earth.

Ed just trying to get over last season and pick out my best points. player of the year for me was lukaku which is unbelievable when he stopped plying with 10 games to go Goall of the season also goes to lukaku against Chelsea in the cup. Chiump of the season stand up Roberto lost the fans lost the dressing room lost his job . Biggest disappointment were do I start john stones's mid season collapse was daunting especially in the derby . Bournmouth the 96 minute Chelsea in the 97 minute probably Manchester United in the 98th but I am going to give it to the whole squad who just never gave enough over the course of the season your thoughts lads.

If city want to pay 50 mil for a lad who is still going to take another couple of years to mature on the pitch then let them. Iam sure big Ron will have a few experienced players in mind to come in for a fraction of the price . Blind or the lad from Southampton could be worth a punt we must be patient and trust the manager.

RK will have plenty of potential targets in mind and will have to as he has some serious work overhauling the squad. The way we finished last season was embarrassing no cover at cb cost us and no quality support strikers cost us to .

We defiantly need a Gk Cb a ball playing Cm and two strikers. What level of player we go for is going to be interesting but having put up big money to get RK the board must be ready to give him the tools to do the job. While it's silly season and were all throwing names in the hat how about Forster isco Grimiero Bacca.

Think unsworth should stay with the under 21s it looks like he has got a good thing going there him and sheedy look capable of neutering a whole new generation of academy players through to first team contention. . Think the new manager will be well pleased with the young talent expected to come through in the next couple of years . He will sign at least a three year deal so will want to know who has a chance of making it to his team while he's there. On the manager debate I would love Jose but is it realistic I think not koeman seems to decided against it so that leaves Pellagrini or De Boer for me it's the younger man he's a well recognised name in football won stuff as a player and manager is meant to be a bit of a hard nose any one who doesn't want to buy in to what he whants to do will be gone and is young enough to build something at Everton.

Koeman was my first choice but it seems he's going on to bigger things I would be made up if we did bring in de boer and his coaching staff. I don't want to see us dither about making an appointment sack Rm straight after the Norwich game and get the new man in as quickly as possible so he can decide what he wants to do with this squad he needs to no who is going and who is staying so he can make moves on his own targets . we do not want to be running round on the last day of the transfer window picking up scraps the board need to be swift as they need to get the fans back on side .
