I don’t get the Fabinho should be sold chants?

Problem for me with everything going on at Liverpool is how quickly fans’ opinions have changed on players.

It was unanimously agreed by the reds that Allison is the best keeper in the world, Trent is the best right back in the world, Robertson the best left back in the world, Van Dijk the best centre back in the league. Matip one of the best centre backs in the league, Konate one of the future best in the world. Fabinho the best defensive midfielder in the world, Thiago one of the best central midfielders in the world, Henderson a machine, Elliot the best prospect in the country. Salah the best player in the world, Diaz one of the best wingers in the world.

You have these players who are THE best or close to the best in the world in each position, you don’t end up where Liverpool currently are.

“We need more midfielders”. Don’t you have about 20? Fabinho, Milner, Henderson, Elliot, Carvalho, Keita, Ox, the new young lad, Thiago and Jones. All of these outside of Milner VERY highly rated only last season. Were they overrated? Have they all aged overnight? .

I have red mates and they are now acting like everyone but the young lad in midfield, Allison, Gakpo, Diaz and Nunez are just straight garbage. Makes no sense to me.

Think the issue is Klopp or whomever is picking the players to be bought appears fixated on attacking players and now have an abundance of them - complete opposite of us.

Liverpool’s defensive midfield is shocking - Henderson and Milner ancient, Thiago slows everything down, Fabinho one challenge away from a red card.

Unsure why they didn’t go in for the likes of tielemans in the summer.

However have very little sympathy for their moaning as they’ve an abundance of decent talent any of whom would get into our starting line up and are not going to get relegated - wouldn’t it be nice as an Everton fan to be in their position?

Am I on the right page!

When you're at the top of your game for years and then have a bad spell it's catastrophic and rightly so. oh how I wish to have half their problem's. Do you remember when we were all slaughtering Carlo for 12th? Do ya? Never had it so good.

{Ed025's Note - its like when a multi-millionaire is down to his last million FBS, there are degrees of disappointment mate ..

5.) 27 Feb 2023 15:11:37
Where we all slaughtering Carlo? I for one was sad to see him go.

6.) 27 Feb 2023 16:27:47
Well let’s hope their catastrophe continues. Just so sad we’re so bad, so still make them look good.

Strange thing, the irritating texts and emails that my cousin (LFC fan) used to bombard me with have pretty much ceased this season, I suppose I should phone him to see if he is alright? ????.

{Ed025's Note - maybe his phone has shorted out with all the tears GD.. :)

The Glenn Whelan who is a Premier League and Champions League winner? Pickford, quality and usual should not be in the same sentence. He has got to be the most confusing keeper I have seen in recent times. I have said it before but he will pull off a great save but for the rest of the match he will make the strangest of decisions. I can’t even imagine what it’s like being a defender with him behind you. DCL should have got more minutes in the tournament though I’ll give you that.

Banter is banter and it’s always good to have a healthy rivalry between the two clubs but draw the line somewhere and win with dignity. It was a good day for you guys and Richarlison took his chance well but leave religion out of it.

I think we should both move on. Emotions are high on our side and I get your points as well so won’t argue against it. Mane was elbowed so an argument can be made there for a card but he was naughty in tripping Mina in retaliation and could and should have picked up a card . Pickford’s challenge was indefensible and if that was Allison I would be saying the same. That also goes for Richarlson challenge both of which could have ended a player’s career.

I can imagine with the news coming out that VVD requiring surgery on an ACL emotions will rise again but we can’t feel sorry for ourselves or play victim as every team goes through injuring problems, which is part and parcel of the game. All emotions aside, it was a great game and Everton have improved a lot and should do well under Ancelotti if you continue to play the way you are, though consistency is key. On a side note in Calvin Lewis you have a very good player!

@PigheadHoncho I already said decisions go for you and against you so not sure you repeated what I said conveys your point effectively. Also the game is gone, we pick ourselves up and move on but was just giving my take on the decisions and can appreciated your opinion.

To say VAR called it so that’s that and is gospel is not entirely correct because VAR has proven in many games across the league to get some decisions wrong, although I think it can be good if the people behind VAR are competent and consistent in their decisions. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Liverpool fan here to see your take on the game. First of all good derby in terms of entertainment and play. Everton have improved and are playing well so you lot should have a lot to look forward to if things continue the way they are. Now I am not red tinted supported and can admit when we are beaten but today’s game was tough to take. VAR will go for you in some games and against you in others but to call us bitter is a stretch.

To any rational Everton fan they would agree Pickford should have been sent off. Rules state and have demonstrated in the past that decisions can and have been made after the whistle. Robertson could have been in some trouble and was petulant after being shoved and could have walked but then so could have Mina who lashed out just before Robertson’s challenge.

Richarlison‘s challenge was horrific however which way you want to analyse it. He deliberately went out of his way to seriously injure another opponent. To compound things and I didn’t think VAR could have topped the Pickford decision but they did with the Mane offside call. He was onside so it’s baffling not just to “Klopp The Crybaby” but those in the studio, the reporters that done the post match interviewS and to everyone at home watching, so yes Klopp being a human and the emotions the game conjures, I would expect him to be disappointed, angry and upset.

To compare him to Mourinho is a strange statement and is one I can only imagine is based on the rivalry between the two clubs. Klopp is in no way shape or form the same in how he reacts to matches to Mourinho. On the whole and VAR decisions aside we were the better team but by not that much. You guys were dangerous on the counter down the flanks whipping the crosses into Calvin Lewis, who I thought was excellent today.
