Okay. So this is a bit of a tough write.

I thought after 24 hours it'd be easier to sit down and put this into words but I'll be honest the tears still start flowing.

Yesterday was one of the most incredible days I've ever had as a blue. As an Evertonian.

It wasn't because we won a trophy or a derby win. It wasn't because of the friends or people you see and sing with at the game every other week. Nothing to do with memories of players or historical matches. And definitely nothing to do with the sausage rolls or pies!

It was the noise. The roar. The Cheers. The joyous cries from 40 thousand people almost standing on top of you. It was so unique to Goodison and when the final whistle blew, it was that noise that made me realise I was never, ever going to hear again.

The Dixie Stadium is going to be unbelievable for us and the sound will scare the s*** out of us never mind the opposition but it won't be the noise of Goodison. It'll be unique and something we'll all get use to and if we're winning we'll get used to it a bit quicker but yesterday it was the one thing we won't get to hear again.

I proper love this club with ever single fibre in me, just like all of you. We might not see eye to eye but the one constant is that we only want what's best for this club and as much as my heart has been broken yesterday, it knows the new stadium has to happen.

Sorry for being a soppy old git and I'm off to dry my ears for the 50th time but for the final word:

Goodison has always been and the absolute symbol of NSNO, now for our new era, our new stadium only deserves from us NSNO!

COYB NSNO.

Great post, Blue John. The match itself was almost redundant, I lapped up the chat and the laughter around me. One chap sang every player song from the last 20 years. It was the trumpet playing ZCars that got me.

What a post BJU!

As I read it the words in my head started sounding like Richard Burton. That was poetry mate, I’m not kidding.

For every supporter/ lover/ fan of this club and the life it gives us, heads up people, Goodison has curtsied towards BMD and sent us on our way with feelings of pride and memories of Kings.
