Not posted for a while, hope everyone is all well!

I actually can’t face tomorrow. I didn’t think I would feel like this, but now it’s upon us, I can’t face it. I know the women will be playing there next year, but still.

It’s not just a ground, a pitch or a football club - it’s your first football match, with your ald fella. Your last football match with your Dad too in my case. Your son/ daughter’s first football match with you. My grandfather graced that hallowed turf with the honour of captaining the club. The smell of horse sh1t and the chippy on the way in with the shout of “Golden Goal” and the smell of disappointment on the way out with the shout of “Echo”. Some great memories. My first match was vs Brighton in 1980 and tomorrow will be the last.

It’s going to be a very, very emotional day.

{Ed025's Note - great post that Pierre but i cant read it again because im welling up mate, i have been looking forward to BMD for a long time now and have followed the construction since it began, but now the time is here to say goodbye to the "old lady"and all the memories have come flooding back, its part of my history, my childhood, my youth and my old age, i have seen the great times and the not so good times but they have all been memorable and sent me on some highs and lows mate but its been a great ride...goodbye old girl...COYB..

Your reply actually set me off Ed!

I’m the same mate - so proud of the club for what they’ve achieved with BMD and when you think of the things we’ve done as a club, the “firsts” so to speak, it feels like we are heading back to where we belong.

We play in Royal Blie because we’re football royalty.

But here’s to Goodison and one last dance.

{Ed025's Note - i will have myself a little drink and bid her farewell tomorrow Pierre and bid her farewell mate..
