My opinion, we could have been the better side yesterday (obviously not because we lost) . We played some good football, the defence and midfield held up well but had no outlet and zero threat up front. Having decided to let Richarlison go, loan out two of our prospect strikers, left with an injury prone DCL and a best by date long expired Rondon, they (the board) seemed to have been oblivious to the consequences. Cannot fault the Team for their efforts, can once again fault those at the top.

{Ed025's Note - spot on with that summary DFS..

Yep for sure our defence and midfield so much better and as for Iwobi so good just need a striker or two and we will have a really good Team.

I’d happily see Mina go and get in two CBs but a forward is a must. It’s crazy to think we struggled for goals last season when Richy and DCL were injured and, having sold one, we haven’t sorted the problem out. Before we shed £30m on the French lad, we really should have bolstered the front line.

Ducks, agree ? with your assessment my friend but do you not think that Dobbin, Simms etc would have only been ‘green light’ allowed to go by FL too. I am sure that KT would not be able to loan players out without FL approval, and dare I say it but think FL would have had the final say too?
To defend Frank though if the risk was that x2 players go out on loan to alleviate a bit of cash stress and also give them 1st team experience with the DCL gamble and I also thought we would bring in a forward before the window closes, think it was still worth taking but nowt to do with our poor board!

Still 20 odds days to go ducks. We needed other areas filling first so we became stronger and not as easy to run over. I think they had 16 corners yesterday and we never looked like conceding from anything they had except for the pen.

The season has kicked off earlier and I'm confident BECAUSE of the people at the top who are now doing our transfers that we will get the final prices of the jigsaw.

A little more patience is needed, Rome wasn't built in a day.

We had to move on french lad as otherwise WHU were buying him. Club have asked us to judge at end of window so let’s do that. We’d all love r buys early and settled but with our ffp issues we are wheeling and dealing and so transfers not so straight forward and fast. DCL injury was unexpected so harsh to criticise. As long as every transfer makes us stronger (which so far they have imo) I’ll wait as asked before making judgement.

I guarantee DCL will be injured again, the weakness is there. If a gamble, it was an awful gamble. A gamble that is going to cost us financially because negotiations are now going to be not in our favour. Business is business and we messed up.

Quite possibly doms injury threw a spanner in the works, linked with 2 Chelsea guys doubt they would have sold us 1 before we played anyway, plus that's if where actually in for either, and just say we had kept richarlson he'd have been no use either, where getting the players we need just not in the order some want.
