Cracking result, however have seen it reported that Richarlison may face FA action over his returning the smoke flare back into the crowd and could possibly face a 3 match ban!

Best case scenario is apparently a fine and telling off.

Let’s hope it is just a fine as we need his performances for the last few games.

It's everton. He will get banned, fined and we will be deducted 10 points. I put I'd down to emotion that's all. Did a fan complain? I don't think they would of.

I hear his defence is he was trying to throw it over the stand, to the church perhaps. Let’s hope they buy it! .

If you watch it he did throw it over the church wall, may be not meant but that's where it landed.

Only reported by the rags, no substance to the report at all. Hoping it’ll just go away.

The only time that I know of a player throwing pyrotechnics into the crowd was the young Liverpool player in a cup final. Ed 0666 might be able to tell us what the powers that be handed out as punishment? If he gets a ban then the club can complain yet again!

{Ed001's Note - that's not true, he never did any such thing, he just held it up and had his picture taken holding it.}

It was a daft reacton after scoring, it was thrown towards the outside, the ref spoke to him about it so surely its classed as he dealt with it, var are probably still reviewing it, it got more coverage on motd than tge first half, but as normal its everton so we will be punished.

I thought he threw it ed, that's why I asked for clarity from a red supporter. I thought he threw it and got a fine, my bad.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, he just waved it around in the air. Personally I think Richarlison should get nothing more than a ticking off, because it could have gone horribly wrong chucking it but he clearly meant to throw it where no one was. It was daft but nothing seriously bad imo. I would expect the FA to maybe give him a token fine and nothing more.}

I'd like to hope so, ed001. Storm in a tea cup really but, as you say, it could have ended up a lot worse. A fine should be the worst case scenario. Cheers for clearing up my original comment ??.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think they can really let him off without risking the possibility of encouraging more flares being brought into grounds. I think bigger questions should be asked as to how they are getting into grounds so easily when they are supposed to be banned. A player chucking one that got onto the pitch into an empty space shouldn't really be the issue here.}

Yeah I totally agree mate, it would be open season for fans to bring pyrotechnics to games and lob them on the pitch note often than we already see it happening. Personally, as a fan, I wouldn't want to run the risk of being refused entry to the ground because I had a flare in me pocket. Unless they search every fan at the turnstiles, which would be a logistical nightmare, some will still smuggle these things in. Mad people!
