i have no idea where this mentality of we need other clubs to lose to stay up that's rubbish the facts are our home form will keep us up we will beat Wolves and Newcastle and this time next week things will look a lot more comfortable.

{Ed077's Note - that's the spirit. Looks like someone had a pitcher of Optimistic TEA in the morning.

Amazing we can be so arrogant after all this time.

A question for you Swan if you interpret posts that say we are going to win based on non factual premise just optimism as arrogant and are amazed, are you equally amazed at your own comments that we are going to lose based on the same non factual premise just pessimism?

Swan saying we will lose is based on this Season's historical and current fact.

4.) 11 Mar 2022

I doubt we will beat them both probably take between 1 and 3 points over the 2 games. You look at the remaining fixtures and really where are 13-18 points coming from? We literally need to rely on other teams being even worse to have a chance of staying up. That is just the reality of the situation.

Ducks taking your logic at face value then all the teams we played in the first half of the season we will have the same result and teams we have played with different results didn't happen as they don't fit the based on "this seasons historical and current fact" presumption.

Exactly. People act like we are Man City or Liverpool and will just beat teams because “we are Everton”. We have been rubbish this season, absolutely terrible. So assuming we will lose to 2 teams who have 1. Already beat us. 2. Are doing very well at the moment and 3. Press teams, something we struggle with a lot. It’s a pretty safe assumption to make. Doesn’t mean we definitely 100% would bet my life on that we’d lose. But it’s more likely than not.

I agree Swan of current form we may not beat either Wolves or Newcastle however, at home I am very optimistic we will, which is not arrogant just optimistic.

Maybe the penny will finally drop if we go down. Maybe it’s what Everton actually need to realise there’s no light at the end of the tunnel for all the poor decisions made since moshiriis arrival. Maybe dropping down and getting rid of all the unneeded deadwood at the club. Personally, a group of youngsters and a couple of Everton hearted players like Anthony Gordon and dedicated players could be what we need to restart what’s wrong. Too many people put the shirt on for money and not pride. Why we’ve got to pretend the likes of players like holgate, Keane and so on are premier ship standard are beyond me! I’ve never felt so low as an Everton fan but I really think we need a fresh start! Major clear out! I just want to enjoy watching them again.

Look - there are problems that need to be addressed about Moshiri's tenure at Everton. Questions need to be asked and they have to be fully answered and we have to learn and rectify our faults

More importantly though is that we need to remain in the Premiership this season because relegation would make things many time worse

The club needs to be united in it's only real objective from now to the end of the season and that's staying up

Personally I'm sick of hearing that the players are crap, are spineless, that Frank doesn't have a clue, that it's all Bill Kenwright's or someone else's fault

What do you think you are achieving? Just get behind the club, the coaches, the players and give them your total support and be their 12th man.

If you can't do that then maybe we are not the supporters we think we are.

Ed 77, and who would your football team be?

{Ed077's Note - Manchester United,BBTGD. We aren't doing too well ourselves either.

ED77 I am always optimistic leading up to a game ha ha and Swan not arrogance at our 3 home games under Frank have all been really good but all you seem to do is negativity I pray your not at Goodison this Sunday because the fans will have a massive part to play. Evertonmincer if you think going down is the answer then your mistaken going down will all but destroy the club jesus its a massive week for our club two big home games both more than winnable and some of our fans already have it down as 2 losses no wonder our fanbase is a laughing stock.

{Ed077's Note - as a fan you always hope for things to take a turn in the right direction, LTM.

11 Mar 2022 15:41:52
So, if you believe and have faith in the club you support (some for longer than swan has been born) that equates to 'arrogance'? Give your head a wobble!
No team is too good to go down and there is a possibility that we could fall through the premiership trap door. But there is absolutely nothing wrong in willing the team to get some points on the board in certain games. It's called optimism.
Beginning to think some people on here wouldn't be bothered if we did drop, just so they could say 'told you so' ?.

14.) 11 Mar 2022
11 Mar 2022 16:00:21
Bp people have to realise just what relegation would mean. This club simply cannot afford for it to happen, and saying it might be the best thing to happen is absolutely ridiculous.
We need other teams to struggle because we will not get out of this on our form alone. So yes I celebrate every loss by Leeds, Brentford and others, and will do until we are mathematically safe.

15.) 11 Mar 2022
11 Mar 2022 16:28:40
We have performed both well, and not well since Frank took over. The reasons for this are speculative, but most of us agree that our squad lacks depth and is poor defensively at least.
It is not blind optimism to think we can play well again. It’s hopeful, not arrogant, and is certainly more likely to happen at home than away.
Could we also be terrible and lose? Sure. History does not predict the result of every match - if it did, I assume we’d all be rich off betting apps?
Let’s leave the name calling for the playground.

16.) 11 Mar 2022
11 Mar 2022 16:47:12
Woburn, if they don't realise what relegation would mean then there is no hope for them! I'm the same mate, happy when those teams around us lose but I'd be like that whatever our league position. As far as I'm concerned mate, we won't be relegated until it is mathematically impossible to survive. If that's arrogance then some need to have a look at the true definition of the word.

17.) 11 Mar 2022
11 Mar 2022 21:00:07
I’d get it would be arrogant to say we will beat Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea in the upcoming fixtures but if we don’t at least hope we beat Wolves and Newcastle then we are already relegated and then you think - what’s the point?

Home advantage can do funny things to a game. Let’s smash the Wolves and Newcastle game to move us out of trouble as I don’t see the next possible win until Brentford in April….

12 Mar 2022 15:54:57
Knowing efc we will probably beat utd and Chelsea. Also don't forget the Chelsea players might be knackered having endured a night in the formula 1 hotel the night before, not to mention slumming it on the way down on the magic bus ?.
