Don't know why I'm asking maybe I'm being a bit argumentative but is there anyone who would still like to see the back of Rafa
I for one was made up with his appointment and up to now looks like the best move we could have in a long long time.

Thought that about virtually every manager we have had (apart from Sam) , after half a dozen games.
Early signs are promising though, but then could have said that last season and look how that ended up.

Best thing to happen to Everton in a long time mate.

I said on here I wanted him to manage Everton and I believed that he’d be a good signing. Nothing has caused me to change my mind but I’d like to hear an update from our owners as to their impression of him.
The last thing I’d want to read is that he’s contemplating leaving due to lack of support.

{Ed025's Note - he took quite a while to agree to join us dave which is why i believe he was made aware of our situation mate, he knows we need to get rid of our non performing high earners and that money will be tight for a while, i dont think hes the type to throw his toys out the pram myself...but you never know..

I'm with Brassington it's looking promising but I bet I can find similar comments about how we are so much better under the new manager over past 6-8 years (with exception of gravy tits) . Honeymoon period with Koeman and Martinez was 1 season, ancelotti a year and Silva 3-4months. Hopefully we are all as happy in a year's time. Time and a difficult December will tell but early signs are promising.

Rafa is not a quitter. He is a good tactician and actually a very nice person. Said all along that with this present squad we are going to probably break even on the win/ loss sheet. Patience is the key until the wage percentage comes down so a little more quality can be identified and brought in.

Last season lost points at home to Burnley, Fulham, Sheff Utd, Newcastle, Villa, Leeds and West Ham to name but a few. If we picked up half the points from these games then Ancelotti would have been a god and we would be in Champions League! And then a judas for running. The current starting line up is strong from 1-11, the squad though is weak so Benetiz should be judged in same way as others.

Yes agreed but I do see a difference between now and under previous managers. It's not only results that matter but the way we get results. The attitude of the players matter, we don't need players (or managers) who use the club as a stepping stone or a final big payout. We need players (and Manager) who consider it a privilege to play for a club with our history, who are willing to play as well as their ability allows and who want to be part of a team effort rather than getting individual credit. Rafa so far seems to have built a good team spirit, let's hope that any future recruitment gives us more players with the attitude shown by Townsend and Gray.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely mike..

For me what we needed he takes no nonsense and will have walked into the interviews knowing how dire our situation was, and walked out knowing just how dire our situation was. And still took it all on even with his red past, he's given players who seamed lost a new level of confidence, there's bound to be some downs this season but at least the team will go down fighting, and not roll over like last season.

I don't think Benítez coaching has ever been in doubt but he is not everybody's cup of tea due to his history. There are still fans that would not be bothered if he left. He has made a good start and if he keeps things going in the right direction then he should be able to bring the majority of the fans on side. I just hope, if we do hit a poor run the management don't have a knee jerk reaction and give him the boot. We need stability for the next couple of seasons at least.

Must admit I expected a bit more negative replies
Where have all the Rafa haters gone?

Give it time, skylark, they are just hiding at the minute mate! As soon as there is a proper blip then they will show up. They have got nothing to moan about just now.

Oh their are still things to moan about blue potato. Like why we haven’t bought a right back yet? And why we loaned out our only left back cover? And why the feck did we get Rondon? And why isn’t Bradley Moor finished yet? Their you go.

I meant in regards to Rafa and the start he's made, Woburn. There isn't much for those who protested against his appointment to gripe about yet.
We have cover for LB in Godfrey, it might not be his favourite position and it might not be ideal but there is cover! RB has been a problem since 3 or 4 managers ago and Rondon. Well, he's a body right now and that's the best I can say! Might be best to judge him when fit, he looks a bit chunky and blows out of his arse after half hour. Plenty of time for him to turn it around, he's only been here five minutes. Stadium is on track so it's all good mate! haha.

I agree BP, but I want that stadium built now. Send Rafa and the squad on an intensive bricklaying course now.

Let's not confuse them too much, Woburn. Some of them are only just getting to grips with this football malarkey. Too much too soon, mate.
