I don't see any logic in paying a large part of Rodriguez wages if he leaves on loan. I know the club and many fans want him gone but common financial sense has to come into play here.
If he went abroad on holiday with the club permission and on returning cannot be available to play for whatever reason the club are responsible. If he went away without the clubs permission and cannot be available to play on return, then that is a disciplinary issue starting with stopping wages.
I didn't know holidays were to be taken during a playing season other than when sanctioned by the clubs.
As long as the club are paying his wages, then he has to train with the club under the clubs rules, get himself fit and be available for selection and to play or sit on the bench as the situation requires. This is the case whether he likes it, Rafa likes it or not.
Again common sense says play him as and when.
We are already down with one player in Sigurdson, possibly another in Coleman, so need most available for league and hopefully cup runs.

Regarding financial farces, wasn't it Everton a few years ago who sold Steve Peinarr ( excuse spelling) to Spurs for £2m and shortly after bought him back for £3.

We sold Pienaar for £2m before we lost him for nothing. Then we signed him for £3m after a successful loan spell when he had a couple of years left on his Spurs' contract.

Do you know that for a fact Brian? Not trying to catch you out, genuine question. I didn't think the club could do anything to stop paying his wages. Contracts are usually massively biased towards the player.

If he went on hol with the clubs blessing the club will pay the wages. If he went without the clubs blessing i would imagine he would at least be fined and in breach of contract. I am not in the know but i would be shocked if any players hols are allowed after off season. I seriously doubt players can put in hol request during a season unless your your club grant it

My bro is a teacher he can not have hols during term time.
