I remember Bill Kenwright in the first AGM with Moshiri. He said "I'm always telling him to calm down. We can't sign everyone but he's like let's buy him, let's buy him".

Hes the owner and that is where the buck stops. However, what do you all want? Little investment like with Bill (through no fault of his own) , or tons of investment like with Moshiri.

Brands has come in and is starting to get things in order and clearing out all of he overpaid dross that's been bought before him and replacing it with genuine quality.

And

That is also Moshiri who has brought Brands to sort out the mess. Meaning he's learnt his lesson.

So. lets. just suck this up, watch as we sort things out which will take a couple of years and then hope to see a better Everton.

In the meantime, stop with the constant blame game. It's absolutely pathetic that you need to always have someone's head to put on a spike.

I'm loving that this season we look like a club that is trying to be better and improve, learning lessons and sorting out the mess.

Hopefully, we carry on this way but I'm confident with Brands in charge, that we will be on a stronger foundation in the next 3 years.

Hopefully with our FFP problems we can actually coach some of the quality youth players we have on our books instead of trying to buy the ready-made like previous years, tailor-made is always better fit than off the peg.

Good post Bluejohn. As Blueboy says it would be nice to see some youth coming through but that has been a failure as far as I can see as they never seem good enough.

Just read that Rafa would not agree to recruiting right-backs that he was not convinced would be worth it financially. If so we are lucky to have a Manager, at last, who will only support sensible recruiting.

Agree Mike. Rafael Benitez name wasn't mentioned in the original post but he's already showing that he brings the experienced level headed approach we have been missing. Hopefully he and brands will work together rather than Brands being "in charge" as the OP states and that we may then avoid doing things like paying 35m for Iwobi or giving James 200k a week to (based on last seasons clear evidence, not this season) play when it suits him.

Sensible posts. Hopefully people will keep BJU's and other like posts in mind when we lose a few (which we will) .

Google Leicester 6-7 years ago. They just missed out on playoffs on penalties are spending a relative fortune for championship on lots of players Inc Vardy. Next season they spent nothing and sold a couple. Got promoted (probably stability and players bedded in ) and rest is history. Not saying same will happen to us but spending every year isn't always best. Sometime appreciate what we have a bit longer. I think Rafa has brought in 3 good pros who will be good around the dressing room and kick but if others aren't putting effort in. Besides Coleman that is what we have lacked more and more.

I fully agree with you Blue but I think most of what you say people were saying the same thing 2 or 3 years ago and really we aren't much further foeward than then.

Sorry to be in a minority of one, but I think Brands gets an easy ride with some, our problems started when we brought Walsh in, followed by Brands. Since then we have gone backwards.

Brands has had two years to find a right back, and to try and offload some of the players, yet the only ones who left, are the ones who had their contracts ending, with the exception of Bernard.

I have no doubt the players we brought in, were Raffa choices, something Moyes did well, when he worked without a director of football.

Maybe in time Raffa and Brands will work closer together, but I certainly believe Brands needs to do a lot more, before he convinces me, he is a big asset to our club.

To be fair to Brands he did make a profit on Vlasic, Gana, Lookman And Onyekuru.
