Less than 4 weeks to go until we have our first match in the PL and only a week until we have our first serious pre season match over in American

Have we brought in any reinforcements - NO Have we got rid of any of our squad deemed no longer required to make funds available - NO

Have we sorted out our right hand side - NO Have we added creativity in attack - NO

Everything hunky dory then?

Yes bw everything is hunky dory.

We’ve got a new manager who seems to actually be getting the players fit for the start of the season rather than what we had last season were the players looked like they could only play 30 minutes!

If he gets the squad fit and able to actually still be playing at 94 minutes plus it’ll be like we’ve got a whole new squad!

Was that at the start of last season when we went 4 games out of 4 in the league and 8 games unbeaten

No one was saying we didn't have the legs then. It was only later that we realised we didn't have the squad strength and what have we done to improve it in time for any new players to integrate properly before the pre-season games get under way?

I realise Benitez was appointed late but this is not the way to start the season.

To be honest we started last season very well, so I'm not sure what you are getting add regarding preseason? If the players tired perhaps the shortened pre season had more to do with it?

Moyes used to go to extremes to work on fitness during pre season as I recall which may well have led to us often being slow starters under his watch. Hopefully Rafa can strike a balance.

As far as players go, very little activity has taken place yet, and given we had no manager that's not surprising. What kind of Manager walks into a new job and fires loads of staff because someone else told them they are no good? A good manager would give them at least a chance in early pre season to show what they can do.

Players have been involved in multiple tournaments around the world so not surprising that we have not seen much transfer activity. Still time for some squad strengthening.

To get players out someone has to want to buy them and more importantly pay their wages. What do you want the club to do give all the unwanted players free transfers and pay their wages until their contracts expire?

BW we started the season well I’ll give you that but most games the players were knackered after the first half.

We had the least fit squad in the league last season and it was only our good start to the season that saved us from a relegation fight.

I want the players fit and able to play 90+ minutes every game of the season not just the first 8 games.

The league is a marathon not a sprint and I have every confidence Rafa will get these players fitter than they’ve ever been which means we can compete all season long.

If there are players hat don’t agree with his methods we can look at moving them on.

Also Rafa only been here 2 weeks so will need time to assess his squad and what he needs. For all we know he’s swapped players positions around and we not need the cover we thought we did at the end of last season.

As I recall last summer we were crying out for midfield reinforcements. Not much happening, then BANG! Within 5 days we had signed Allan, James and Decoure.

Might not be like that this summer but at least that’s reassuring enough for me not to get too worried about the lack of activity thus far.

Relax lads… almost no transfers have been completed by Prem teams. Many are in a far worse position than us - Palace for example. I’m pleased that Rafa is taking time to assess the squad before buying. No more expensive flops needed. 3 or 4 good solid signings and we’ll be good to go. We still have the squad that blitzed the start of last season.

Not sure if its groundhog day I should be using as an example or whether most football fans have annual amnesia.

Every single season is exactly the same and every single season teams buy and sell players. We've had it where we signed players in August and little before. The last day of transfer day is usually ram packed with buying and selling.

Stay calm, sit back, read some reports from how training is going, have a watch of the pre season games, don't be worried if we lose them and settle down to get ready for the new season.

We finished 7 points off champs league, imagine what a fit and healthy Everton could do.
A sprinkling of pace and there is no reason this squad can't make Europe of some kind.
