How can Gary Neville say pickford could have done better for their goal. I'm not JP's biggest fan but you have give him credit for his performances at the end of the season and euros. Sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say you conceded a world. If he wants to nitpick maybe he should start with our wall that was defending that side of the goal but then it would involve players from Man U!

Being totally honest I thought pickford was atrocious last night. Not so much the goal but all the other areas of his play. Looked like the goalkeeper for everton at the start of last season, flapping, struggling with anything that came back to him etc etc. credit were credit due he was excellent for us in the run in and had some good England performances but last night he was bobbins.

I would agree that last night wasn’t his best game, his kicking game was off and he was overshadowed by a very assured and solid performance by Schmeichel at the other end
But we aren’t going to hear about Shaw committing a poor foul to give them that free kick or some of his wayward balls.
I do feel there are others committing dodgy play but it’s always Pickford that gets highlighted
Hopefully his final performance is back to a solid display.

It was the first time he looked a bit nervous, but so did the defenders a couple of times. As for the free kick the wall looks after one side and the keeper the other.

He gets highlighted because he is last line of defence, same for all goalkeepers. Huge occasion last night, got to a few players. My hope is, last night was the time to get the nerves out of the way because Italy are the form team. You think Sterling for instance will be allowed to make his runs? Taken out asvsoon as he crosses halfway line.

I thought England defended too deep last night at times and also panicked at times which can cause all players to get nervous they were the best team that England had faced so far, and the defence were very wary of them, need the leaders to step up then, Captain Kane is not vocal enough.
