It’s all about opinions and mine is that appointing Rafa would be disastrous. Forget the fact that he is an ex red and the small club nonsense . His record since Liverpool has been nothing to write home about never lasted long anywhere apart from Newcastle where Bruce is doing an equally comparable job . Plays boring football which we slated Carlo for . This guy will polarise fans more than Big Sam . I truly believe this will end in tears and he might not last the season . Believe me I hope I am wrong about this and will happily eat humble pie if I am . I just want Everton to be back where they belong playing in Europe and challenging for trophies.

Of course it will be disastrous.

Took Chelsea third and won Europa League. Brought Newcastle up from the Championship. Did a good job in China. Not bad for a has been.

Europa League 2013 - 8 years ago
Spells at Napoli and Real Madrid. Real Madrid sacked allegedly due to 'unpopularity with fans, displeasure with players, and failure to win (even 1-0) against top sides' (source Wikipedia) . The even 1-0 is mine
Newcastle promoted 2017 but then nothing better than Steve Bruce has been achieving
China! All he won was money for himself in a nothing league that none of us know or want to know about. He went for MONEY - not football

Has been?

{Ed001's Note - to be fair at Madrid Zidane took the same system that caused Rafa to be unpopular and won 3 Champions Leagues in a row with it. So he does know how to set up a team, it was just there the players wouldn't listen to him because he never played at a high level.

As for Newcastle, they spent £40m on Joe Linton after he went, Bruce had a lot more to spend, so should be doing better than under Rafa, rather than the same.}

He was bottom of the league in China, he was awful over there

Chelsea won the champions league the season before he took over.

Newcastle sold their top scorer Ayoze Perez when Rafa left and replaced him with Joelinton who wouldn’t score in a brothel.

{Ed001's Note - yes and that was the argument that saw Rafa refuse a new contract, because he didn't want Joelinton.}

That's interesting ED. Joelington was signed a week after Bruce was appointed and I wasn't sure whether it was a Bruce signing or it was already agreed before he took over
You saying Rafa left over Joelington clears it up for me. Surely though, if Rafa thought buying Joelington would weaken the side then Bruce achieving virtually the same position was a better performance especially as Rafa had more in net spending if you exclude Joelington. Rafa though was spot on in his assessment though, Joelington has been a waste of money for them so far

We can spin an argument out of anything.

{Ed001's Note - so you want to exclude a player from net spend, because it makes your argument look better. Pointless conversation as you are spinning, I am explaining. No time for people like you who just change the parameters of everything to suit their point of view. It is pointless as you are obviously too set in your viewpoint to do anything other than twist everything to suit you.}
