Just a thought.
When Brands was brought in wasn't it to purchase players for the manager to fit his system?
If that was the case, and as it has been said he is now involved in who the next manager will be. Then it is only fair to assume he would not want a manager who wanted to take control of purchasing new players.
That being the case I can understand why (if reports are true) he might be pushing for Potter from Brighton.
He plays attractive football on a very small budget. He would manage the team while Brands got on with doing the job he was employed to do. Find the right players to fit a system and style for the future.
Something supporters have been crying out for.
Before you write him off for lack of experience. Remember this is about building a team for the future. Something we have failed to do with several managers now.
We have done this before with a young manager from Preston, and that didn't turn out to bad. The difference now is we have the purchasing power to go with it.
Just a thought.

I remember watching Graham Potters Swansea side playing good passing but possession based football. He did wonders at Ostersund and decently at Swansea. Brighton has been a tougher gig but in a more competitive league it's fair to say. Seems a likeable guy as well. I wouldn't be against him stepping up to a bigger club. My main concern (whoever gets appointed) would be the possibility of not being able to attract top players, but this is where Brands comes in.

Let's be honest we aren't the most enticing of options at the moment for players. I'm still wondering are we going to lose any players like James or Allan? Hopefully not and we can build on what we already have.

Wouldn't be against Potter, as his sides play decent football. My concern would be the lack of goals Brighton suffered from last season, as this was a failing throughout the whole campaign.

If the Nunu "done deal" are true, I wouldn't be averse to this either, as I feel that he may surprise a few people. I will of course support whoever the club appoint.

I think we need to get over this obsession with “Top Players”

We’re a mid table team and need to recruit appropriately.

Marcel should continue with our recruitment and bring in players who develop into top class players.

Not sure buying “top players” is where we currently are we need to buy within our means and develop those players.

Forgot to mention in my earlier post that my preference would probably be Erik ten Hag, as I feel that he would work perfectly with Brands.

The appointment of a new manager should of course be Brands domain, although I feel that in reality that it may well pan out differently.

We definitely see to move from this signing top players mentality to signing and developing talent!
Financially we cannot support a model that sees us continually outlay on pricey players who will have no resale value.

I don't think buying so called top players will work for us, because the minute a club playing in Europe comes in they will do a "Carlo" and be off.
We need more players like Godfrey. Young and determined, with a young manager.
On Brightons lack of goals. They had Maupay up top. We dont. Just have a look at how many chances they created, against how many they scored.
