I remember a lot if us saying when carlo first come that we need 3 years to challenge. Its his first full season in charge he has only brought in 4 players and them 4 players are arguably are best 4 players doucore, james, allan, godfrey .
Not to mention he probably getting the best out of dcl and keane. Injures this season also have been against us . The way carlo wonts to play he can't because of the type of players he has at his disposal once he has the type of players he wants i think we will see a different team. a lot of players are just not good enough and are inconsistent.
Davies, holgate, gomes, siggurdson, iwobi, bernard these players lack quality but carlo has to play them because he has no other option. a lot will say look to the youth we did that with gordon an look what happened he was not ready. Blaming the manger in his first full season also in a C.V. is just clueless let the man build because if we start to show anger at the manger and he leaves we will not get one as good as him again mangers will avoid us . Bring on the transfer window and get some players with quality in and get rid of the dead wood who can't perform.

Very sensible post Evo. I’m not saying Carlo is above criticism, but I agree that more time is required to judge him fairly. I think the quality in the squad has improved under him and will continue to.

I am not saying get rid of Carlo but to say no other managers would come here is nonsense. It’s all about money, give them enough and they will come. Let’s face it it’s the only job I know where you can fail and walk away with a hefty wedge.

Totally agree Evo and JB makes a very good point Carlo is not above criticism. I personally think he made a big mistake with the selection and formation for the Villa game and was extremely disappointed to say the least with the performance of some of the players, well eight of them anyway. What I don't understand is that some fans want total change nearly every season we don't get into Europe the expectation for instant results only causes more disruption. Since Moyes left we have had 4 permanent manger of which only one has had two seasons in charge. If we got rid of Carlo what manager would want to come to Everton knowing that they had a season and a half to get into Europe with a limited budget and squad not good enough to get there. It will be the managers that do not have a long term strategy look to get as much money from there tenure as possible and play football that tries not to loose. Now I though we had already been down that road and didn't like the outcome but I could be wrong.

I think of all the things that has hampered us this season, a complete lack of consistency of first 11 is the biggest issue. Whether that be down to CA choosing to rotate or more down to injuries we can debate but it is an issue. Yes all sides have had injuries but rather than having a single crisis we just seem to have suffered key injuries all season.

We started with full back issues, then once they got fit we lost Allan. James has been in and out, then as soon as Allan gets back Dacoure goes. We lost DCL over Xmas which is a terrible time to lose you main man. I mean how often has CA been able to call on his first choice 11? How many other sides have been forced to field benches with 3 goalkeepers and a bunch of u18s?

For me this summer has to be about bringing in fit, mobile, pacey players. We can afford to sign any more 'players in their prime' who suffer from inconsistency/ injuries - looking at you coutninho!
