What's peoples thoughts on the rumors that we are close to signing Coutinho

He was outstanding at Liverpool but has struggled at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and has not yet come back from a long term injury

To me it could be a bit of a gamble and could wreck the pay structures at Everton. Having said that Ancelotti has proved himself adroit at getting the best out of players like Allan and Rodrigues and it definitely would send a message that we mean business

Any thoughts anyone?

I have said for a wile we need a attacking player who can run at players and can score goals also make an pass. I think would be brilliant signing if he is fit we all no what he can do.

I am inclined to go along with BW on this, of course his past is very good however the present and future is at the foremost of my 'thoughts' again if Carlo rates him in this respect then yes I would welcome the prospect .

I don’t think wages are an issue now we are at stage of players that we could not get rid off will be out of contract players like Besic, Bolasie are taking up so much of the wage budget and that’s the problem a large overpaid squad. Coutinho would be a great addition maybe not a priority, but it’s about building a better smaller squad rather than a big squad with very little quality to cover when key players are injured.

Not for me. Maybe 3 years ago when he was amazing yes, but he’s suffered with numerous injuries since and looks a shadow of his former self.
We need someone young fast and dynamic.
I think if we get coutinho it’s another lightweight player in the middle of the park, that whilst can be brilliant on his day like Rodriguez doesn’t offer much in the defensive role and we’ve seen how that can affect us in games.
I’m sure for the money he’d cost there are better, younger and hungrier options out there.
