Hi Eds. Just been reading posts below about new champs league format. Now I know this will never happen but should be:

Top 2 from the top 5 league (prem, France, Spain, Germany and Italy) plus

6 from a playoff set up comprising 3rd and 4th in top leagues and champions of so called lesser leagues.

16 teams. home and away. I'm sure there are 32 midweeks they can use. top of league is best in Europe.


Those who finish 3rd or 4th at home may moan but if they really are part of the elite then they will get through playoff section.

Champions only would mean a real champions league! And give it more of a league format.
