He has a point well said.

Totally agree with everything he said and he's right. These 6 clubs have no consideration for their own fans and are just in it solely for the money. Would love the league to now stand up and do what Neville suggested and deduct them points and hit them were it hurts by reducing their income from this season.

Collectively they are a bunch of 'corporate-minded ' zealots, and they see with their greedy eyes an opportunity to just get richer .
The principles of sporting merit would be cynically abandoned which would consequently diminish the very essence of their existence.
My whole point here is, this would mean they have no credible right to continue in the world of competitive sport alongside true professional clubs.

So 15 clubs want to guarantee that they will play European competition every year. They want to monopolise the entry and the revenue streams and attempt to stop other teams from developing into bigger teams than they are (even though some of these 'super' teams are either not currently the best teams in their leagues nor are they massive historically great teams

They want to continue to play in their respective national leagues until 'it suits' them to leave with no requirement to field their best sides in these competitions as the Super League is guaranteed to them every year not matter how bad they do in the national leagues

I'd tell them thanks but no thanks to playing in the national leagues, they only want to remain in them for the TV money. Liverpool v Barcelona is not a bigger game than Liverpool v Everton. Let them see how many people pay for TV coverage of a Super League versus paying for English Premiership subscription even if it doesn't include Liverpool or Manchester or the likes of Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea (who really cares about those 3?)
Ban their players from international competition - they don't deserve to represent their country

Good riddance to greedy, self obsessed people.

Football is a business not a sport as such it is no surprise that the owners of certain clubs wish to make their business model more sustainable. It will be interesting to see what the Football authorities do. Will they call the European Super Leagues founding members bluff and impose the sanctions they propose? I doubt it but it would be highly entertaining with the so called elite clubs running round trying build the new league and get the sponsorship deals by August with the prospect of no domestic or sanctioned European football on the cards. I also find it interesting that no German or French clubs are involved.

German clubs not involved due to their ownership model I think I read somewhere. Fans own a relatively large proportion of the individual clubs - hence you can’t get a greedy owner agreeing to this.

Agree with everything that's been said. thought Gary neville was excellent.
Apologies to all on the live chat on Friday - it had been a stressful week and had far too much to drink but no excuse for being rude to people so I'm really sorry for that and hope I didn't offend anyone.

Each team involved in this new league should be expelled from their respective leagues with immediate effect. The English teams were warned that there would be repercussions in continuing talks after the 'Big Project' or whatever it was called.
If they want to leave then let them but ensure that they have to resign from the Premier league before they go. None of the 6 can expect the rest of the clubs to back them on this, especially when the entire project is driven by greed. They are freezing the rest out of their 'big boys club' and that is against every principal of sporting integrity.
They need to have some kind of punishment come their way for the cloak and dagger zoom calls to get this off the ground. It's disgraceful to announce this before the current season has ended and in the current economic climate. Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool all tried to furlough staff didn't they at the start of the C.V.? Neville was right, it's a disgrace and something needs to be done by the football authorities. Financial penalties won't suffice, they all have enough cash to splash around. Large points deductions, suspend or expel them from their domestic leagues is the only way to discourage this from rearing its head again any time soon. If they choose to go then it's good riddance to them all, hope the door doesn't hit you on the arse on the way out!
