Rather than spend money on Koulibaly in the summer David Alaba at Bayern is on a free and as it's less than 6 months to the end of his contract foreign clubs can start negotiations. He's a left footed centre-back who can play left-back and centre-mid, he's also younger than Koulibaly.

Or rather than spend money on a centreback an area we’re well covered in why not use the money to buy a player for a position we actually need: rightback, right winger, attacking midfielder?

The only reason our defence struggled in the past is because we had a weak midfield so they were constantly under pressure. That is being sorted with Dacoure, Allan and hopefully Gbamin. Agree with Dan, we now need a right back, right winger, striker and attacking midfielder. Preferably one who knows which way is forward.
I would rather spend money on those four positions than a shed load on another thirty year old. Who despite how good people say he is, has never played in the Premiership.

Yeah it’s nonsense, we’ve got four good centre backs, maybe even five if Branthwaite develops and in Keane and Godfrey I think we’ve got the makings of an brilliant partnership, who complement each other perfectly. We need a right back and a right winger; those areas of weakness need strengthening first.

{Ed002's Note - Everton cannot afford Alaba and there are talks going on with other clubs. He is not an option. Although Carlo Ancelotti knows Koulibaly very well and they get on well I understand, the problem is paying €50M for a 30 year old would not seem like good business and there is no lure of being in the Champions League.}

More chance of me playing for Everton than us signing Alaba lol. He will have probably 10 champions league clubs ahead of us offering just a much money.
