I had some great news today. My 18yr old daughter is a swot and gotvpredicted x3 A's for her A levels. That's not the good news - the good news is she has picked and been accepted to Liverpool University.
As of next season I'll be visiting her every other Saturday and will time it for around 3pm.
I have warned her - she is a Sunderland fan but if I see her wearing a LFC shirt then my monthly direct debit is stopping 😂

Serious question though - I have a strong geordie accent - what's The Old Lady like if fans here a strange accent? - am I in for any stick?

Sobs when big Dunc first signed we had a coachload of scots turn up to watch him. Had great banter with those lads. It's not the accent mate, were all blues at heart, and that's what counts.

Sobs I'm County Durham and used to go with my mate and stand in gallowgate end. That's when SJP wasn't built like it is now. Spent most the time head turned at scoreboard looking for everton score popping up. Geordies didn't mind a toffee in their end of the ground.

I'm from way down sooooooouth and I've had nothing but a great time up at Goodison and Liverpool as a city. Hoping to be up there again next season at some point.

Sobs, I was born in the district of Everton and raised in Liverpool until I went to college in Salford at 18. Have lived in America since 1978 (aged 38) . When I go back to Liverpool they ask where I'm from so being a Scouser makes no difference. People in the USA say I talk with an English accent and people in the UK say I have an American accent. In Liverpool I just make sure I wear my Everton shirt and keep my mouth shut, works every time. If asked I say I am from Australia which is sort of neutral and keeps me out of trouble. People are generally very impressed that I have come all the way from Australia to watch the Blues.

{Ed002's Note - I went the other way in 1981 and moved from America to England - where I am now but have spent much of the time since split between England and largely Monaco. I have a Berkshire accent I believe. There was no discernable accent for where I am from in America nor anywhere else I have lived.}
