Holgate is costing us this match, and Iwobi is not much better.

Why on earth does he send free kicks backwards?!?

I say it every week Holgate is poor ball watches, cannot make a pass he’s a championship player at best!
It must be time now to give Josh King a start aggression and directness he gives us something different in attack.

Agree Holgate was poor, but cost us the match? We were just beaten fair and square all over the pitch. Not one player above a 6 tonight really.

Maybe one game too many in the last few weeks with a fairly thin squad right now, or just Chelsea are better which is no disgrace really.

Accept it, move on.

My Holgate commentary was at half time, therefore costing, rather than cost us.

He used to be one of my favourite players, was good defensively, had good spatial awareness, would make forward runs, and could pick out a great through ball - just like Godfrey does now.

Now, when playing on the right, he makes poor tackles, gets caught out ball watching, and is scared of running past the halfway line or making a forward pass.

Now for Iwobi, I loved him for the first 10 games he played for us, his passing was sharp and direct, he made good simple runs, created plenty of chances, and scored a few goals.

These days, he runs around like a headless chicken, doesn't know which way he is going to run, always runs inside instead of up the wing like a winger should, and tries tricks like a poor man's Ronaldhino. The constant vacant expression on his face shows that the lights are on but nobody's home.

So we have a right back who doesn't like to venture past the halfway line or make a forward pass, and a right winger who doesn't like to play out wide or put crosses in. It's no wonder we struggle down that side compared to the left.

Replace those 2 with Aaron's and Raphina / Adama Traore and we would be a much better team.

I would keep Holgate as a backup centre back, but Iwobi is only good enough for a Crystal Palace or below.

I thought Gomes was good today though, worked hard, made some good tackles, and some good forward passes. Pickford, Allan, and Godfrey were also good in the main.

For me the problem for Iwobi is he needs a run of games to reach his potential and be consistent. He dosn't seem to be able to play consistently well if he is being swapped in and out of the team. As a squad player I think he really struggles and can't perform to the levels we expect.

totally agree ed 077 poor piece of business he looks lost how many games does he need in my opinion he has to many he's had one good game and if am right think that was fulham away but not just him gomes is a liability always takes the easy option an passes the ball back he should be turning and making runs forward that's what a midfielder should do bernard is lightweight he needs to go i think gylfi needs to go aswell along with mina just my opinion but no doubt big job ahead in the summer i would happily take a loss on those players i have mentioned.

Iwobi started last two games and did nothing. I’m all for giving him a run of games just not with us.
