Think this is best I have seen Andre Gomes play since he had injury. Looks fit powerful and touch back to best.

{Ed025's Note - im not so sure cookie, i thought he worked hard but it seemed to me that andre and siggy were not sure where they were playing and they were just winging it, all the lads worked hard but it does seem disjointed at times, great result but not that great a watch for me mate..

Gomes put in a few good balls but he is a pure liability. Gives the ball away, always the wrong side when defending and gives fouls in needless situations. We llay so much better without him.

To be fair though the three in the middle were poor with the ball tonight. The front three were isolated for much of the game but thank god for Sig and Rich. Lovely ball and great finish.

Seems like a top guy, but I can’t see him getting too many games next season. Lacks pace and bite defensively, could maybe excuse that if he was lethal with a through ball or a set piece special-ist - he’s not. We’re aspiring to have better players in the squad.

Is this the same Gomes everyone wanted to marry when he signed give the lad a break I have seen flashes of his old self but we have to remember he suffered a serious injury came back faster than anyone expected and has had no preseason to build his ankle up and is poss suffering a little but from the psychological side of things can as blues can we not just enjoy what has been a very good week without looking for something or someone to moan about UTFT KAGS.

His injury was over a year ago. He is a nice fella but he's not improving or getting back to his best or even close.

I wish I'd see the improvement but sometimes you've got to face facts. Right now, with things so close I want reliable, dependable players, in form.

Someone who loses the ball in a Derby on the edge of the box, is not the player I want on the pitch. This has been a regular thing where he's caught in possession every single game and because of that he makes rash challenges. He almost got sent off in the Derby. It's not the first time lately.

So no time for sentimentnot when CL is actually possible.

its almost as if Gomes is now the scapegoat because Tom Davies has been playing well shame really as a fanbase it baffles how in a week we have won the derby had the ground approved had Digne sign a new contract and beat Saints to keep us in touching distance some of our fans are not happy unless they are moaning about a player.

First off Brank, it's okay to critise players If they are not performing as long as you highlight the areas they are not performing in and giving a balanced view. The problem we have is that like with Tom, even when he was doing well people got on his back.

Gomes is not playing well so therefore there is a discussion to be had on his performances and to highlight why I think he shouldn't be in the team. You can't paint everything with rainbow coloured happiness.

YOU would be on his back and having a go if, like getting caught in possession in a crucial game, he costs us a goal and we lose a game that means we don't get in Europe.

Is that Gomes fault? No. Its because he's playing when he shouldn't.

Gomes will know he's not playing well and not the player he was. However, we can't be always hoping he's going to get back to his best. That is utter madness.

Hopefully he does come good but we can't keep playing him when he may cost us.
