There's still a lot of debate on here over Tom Davies. What I think no-one really takes into consideration is his age. He's 22 years old. He is maturing not just in his football but also as a person. He won't be anywhere near his peak for another 4, 5 or 6 years. The position he plays in requires focus, patience and most of all experience.

If we'd have signed him at this age rather than bring him through the ranks we'd have thought we'd got a decent player who's only going to get better as he gets older.

He's made some progress this year and he'll be better again working with the likes of Allan for a couple of years. Let's give him some time now everything is not resting on his shoulders, as it has been for the past two years, and see how he goes.

Martinez saw something in him to make him captain, then we hit a manager merry-go-round, koeman, silva and he who should not be named all probably wanted different things from him, if Tom can kick on from that performance then we might see the player his early promise showed.

Totally agree, Wolf. Hopefully, the manager turmoil is well and truly over and the lad can nail down a position and learn from one of the best managers in the game.

Its up to him but he's got a great chance to really develop and kick on with this manager and calibre of players coming through the door.

I'm don't mind him losing the ball by making forward passes which is what he does. I hate players being caught in possession because that's just lazy play. The ball yesterday to DCL was perfect and shows what he can do further up the pitch. The rest hopefully will come soon enough.

Obviously our Manager sees something in Davies otherwise he would not keep playing him would he? I would suggest that Carlo knows a little more about individual players talents, abilities and areas were they need to improve than supporters.

I'd be very very happy to be proved wrong re Tom but one good game doesn't change my mind about the many games that he's given the ball away or made bad tackles.
Taking up BJU's point. If he was playing for another side would we all be shouting for Everton to sign him instead of other targets - I know I wouldn't
I was backing DCL when others were on his back because I saw something in him
I'm not convinced re Tom but please please let me be proved wrong.

Bw2412 it's not one good game though bud he has done well in nearly every game he has been asked to play this season it's refreshing to see fans support him instead of getting on the kids back.
