Can any of the Ed's tell us about a kid called Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax according to the Echo (not the most reliable) Brands has said he would love to sign him but feels he will move to a top top club.

{Ed002's Note - He was outstanding as a youth player and has made the transition well. There are plenty of clubs open to taking him but he is not going to want to end up in the reserves or on the bench.}

It must be hard being an Ajax fan. They get all their players taken - I read that this is their business model but non the less as a fan it must be hard seeing their stars go over and over.

No doubt the kid is talented, but players from the Dutch youth systems see to have great difficulties adapting to the English leagues, not sure if they fare any better in Germany, Italy or France, but you automatically think of Klassen, and the lad United signed in the Summer, Luk De Jong also, if I was Gravenberch I would consider any move abroad very carefully, especially when the seductive amounts of money are being offered by English clubs.

Gullit, Van Persie, Berkamp, Overmars, Stam, Hasstlebank, Van De Sar, van Nistleroy

Just a shame we ended up with cocaine Andy and randy Royston.

Best Dutch moment at EFC - Raymond Attefeld taking his clothes off during end of season lap of honour

Hettiga - pretty ok too.

The days of Dutch players doing well in the prem seem to have gone.
Maybe the 2 leagues have drifted apart. In the 90s they were evenly matched but their technical approach and our athletic approach don't mix well.
