Great to see Gomes showing signs of getting back to his full self. Tbh with an injury like that the mental recovery is just as important and imo he looks like he's well on his way to getting back to his best.

Iwobi has been a revelation these last 10 games for me. He went from being a complete write off to putting in consistently excellent performances.

A few new additions in the summer and I feel we're right on the cusp.

{Ed025's Note - at the moment sir loin i think him coming off the bench is the best thing for all concerned mate..

Yeah mate, looking at the current form of the top 5 in the PL, only Utd outshines us .
Stats don't always do it for me somehow, yet whatever it is we lack it doesn't seem to be that much judging on the form of the others in this group, which I might add excludes Pep's City.
Just saying like.

Yeah quite possibly Ed. But I would say that imo he definitely isn’t “finished” as a lot where claiming recently.

{Ed025's Note - no sir loin i dont think hes finished, he may well get to start because i dont think he has recovered from that serious injury yet mate..

Sorry Sir_loin not sure you can say Gomes getting back to his best after one decent game with a peach of a cross. He’s been fairly poor last few games and way too negative. If he performs consistently like last night for a few games in a row then maybe he’s returning to his previous form.

I think he’s slowly been showing signs of improvement over the last couple of months Woburn. definitely not basing it from 1 match.

Gomes has come back a yard off the pace and makes more mistakes than Davies. He dwells on the ball too long and I am terrified of him being anywhere near our box because he always makes the wrong choice and over commit and foul. Yesterday he had 3 players to make a simple pass and instead got caught out and lost the ball.

I don't mind someone trying a pass and it not come off but getting caught in possession constantly is lazy play. The two of them need to be sharper on the pitch.

{Ed025's Note - i will agree with that last statement john, the 2 of them lose the ball far too easily and it can sell us down the river at times, gomes has an excuse because of his injury though because you are right he has lost a yard of pace, which is why i think he should start from the bench mate..

Gomez has been dreadful. That was a delightful cross though.
