Wheyyy. We finally won a game without Richarlison. No that's finally out of the way we can leave that phycological cling on behind.

Just want to say as well that Siggo was excellent again in that game. He's shown in the last few games that he still has a part to play.

Iwobi has massively impressed me in the last 5 or so games and has seemed to have morphed into prime Ronaldinho lol.

Davies also for me showed that when played in a deep lying role in a 3 can more than do a good job for us.

The 2 Merseyside clubs at the top of the table on Boxing Day. When was the last time that happened? .

I thought Tom Davies was decent yesterday and siggy is working a lot harder but still a significant proportion of his dead ball deliveries that belong in Sunday league. Iwobi has improved but unfortunately still has zero end product. Really pleased to see us grind out a win with a couple of players missing but let's not forget that we were playing a winless, rock bottom team and scored with the 1 chance we created!

Nice to see the positive posts. Davies can do a job against lower teams when we have possession as a deep lying playmaker. I think he gets exposed against better teams when asked to defend ie Allan or Geuye. It’s not a criticism just an observation and to use him at the proper times. He switches off defensively. Saying that Geuye and Allan maybe don’t carry the ball forward or show for ball as much as Tom.
It’s been pleasing to see the squad players stepping up and looking forward to when Digne, James, Richarlison and Allan return not forgetting Gbamin and any new arrivals.
Interested to see the team tomorrow, maybe a weaker team and concede the game and have the team ready and fresh for next game. Momentum will be disrupted but fresher legs?
