Cheers Ed01 for your reply yesterday phone died so couldn’t get back on to join in the conversation,

I’m with Worburn worrying if true and you can kind of see it on the pitch,

Historically Carlo’s teams have been solid at the back and we are currently a million miles away from a clean sheet.

For me just go back to a 433 and go at teams at least we looked dangerous going forward.

Wing backs worked against Fulham for 45 mins and then they worked out that actually if the press us we will cack our pants.

Now everyone knows that if the press and close down the space some of our players struggle, Gomes in particular.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome Yb. It was my fear when you brought in Carlo, but you looked to have laid it to bed initially with your start to the season. Now the hope is that the same issues appearing are more down to a lack of pre-season than anything else. The problem is that, with you not being in Europe, the lack of fitness should be solved by training during the week. Instead the players look even less fit than ever.}

This is what baffles me really. Makes you wonder how much work is being done on fitness. Because against Leeds we looked jaded, were as they looked as if they could have run all night.

We looked jaded in the 2nd half against Fulham as well Woburn.

You would hope that with all the stats and analysis flying around Finch Farm that someone would realise that you can’t compete in the premier league if your unfit.

Over the last 3 years we seem to end up with the same result players going through the motions and looking either not interested or unfit.

My hope now is that the last two games have been a kick up the backside for players and staff a like.

It’s not all doom and gloom and there are things to be positive about but it’s bloody frustrating!

A few weeks training on Formby sand dunes might be the answer.

Ed this is maybe a silly question but is the fitness thing that they spend less time on fitness training or so it that there is just generally less training?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about with Everton, but at Bayern it was less fitness training and the training they did have was described by the players using words such as "laughable".}
