Looking forward to the return of football this weekend and wanted to see what the general consensus was regarding international football - does anybody really care anymore?
Given the situation we are in surely global travel for meaningless games and “tournaments” should be halted and just let nations concentrate on domestic football.
If this were the case we would have no interruption to the season and less pressure to rush games through, not to mention injuries.
Used to live internationals back in the day but World Cup aside I think they’ve had their day.
And without them I think we would have carried on our momentum and not dropped to the level of the last 3 games!
Hopefully Richarlison is raring to go on Sunday and not feeling the effects of the cabana challenge and jet lag. always EFC ahead of England for me.

Lets all hope Ricky is back fit for Sunday, we have all seen how bad we are without him.

Stopped watching Internationals after the World Cup ‘98 when I was in my teens. We’ve not had great representation in the England team for a while and gave up after that tournament. I’ve failed to get behind the team in any of the last several cups.

I don’t see the point of all these ‘friendlies’ or the nations cup. It just seems like a waste of time to me. Let the teams get together for the off season tournaments and stick to the league for the rest of the year. Call me selfish, but I’d rather see our boys playing for us.

{Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

Tbh BR, I couldn't care less about international footy full stop and haven't for years mate.
Being of mainly Welsh ancestry I don't get the same feelings for England as most of the lads on here, however the international ''breaks'' seem to be more of a hindrance than anything else .

Not any more, bunch of over hyped over paid players who look and perform like they would rather not be there run by a group of under whelming managers with an inability to produce much more than tippy tap football with maybe one or two decent moves in the 90mins played. No thank you. In my opinion the only thing worth watching within the international game is a penalty shoot out at the Wold Cup or Euros or maybe the final if England ever get to another one.

Not really felt any connection to the national team since the mid 80's when we were well represented. Left it a bit late when they started playing games up North for me. I've never been impressed with the choices if manager over the years either, Southgate a prime example. can't for the life of me see what he has achieved in management to warrant the job. don't even watch them anymore.

Stopped watching years ago picked for who you play for or past reputation when players like Joe Gomez got picked when he had hardly played for Liverpool (if he played for West ham he would not get looked at never mind picked) or Pickford is picked no matter how poor his club form is then even now he has a RB playing on the right of a 3 CB pairing me I have no time for them anymore.
