The one that has got me the most was the pen salah got against west ham last week it was a shamble football is finished. The player clearly dives an throws himself to the ground yes he might got a knock but if was not enough for him to go down the way he did and to make things worse VAR look at it an agree with the ref VAR should look at it and say book him for a dive. Its wrong how it works the league is basically encouraging strikers to dive and going down the game is getting destroyed week by week.

Ed, it's true because it compromises and turns the whole question of right and wrong into what amounts to a 'custard pie fight' on a merry go round !

{Ed025's Note - i like that 247.. :)

Fair enough ed. I agree these soft penalties are ruining the game but I think if we were on the receiving end of a few of them we may not be moaning about salah, Bruno etc. as much as we are.
However if anyone sill get booked for diving it’ll probably be one of ours - remember niasse.
I just think there’s some sort of agenda that the so called top teams appear to get more of these decisions than the rest of the league.

From our team perspective I Personally think Richarlison has actually improved in the rolling around stakes and doesn’t seem to do it as much. However what is a bit annoying is James calling for a card whenever he’s tackled. Just no need for it, let the ref decide, i reckon they see a player calling for a card they’ll probably do the opposite.

{Ed025's Note - im with you dan i dont like the way james does that at all, lets hope he learns very soon mate..

Fight fire with fire. Feel a knock go down. Apologise after you have the pen. Stiff upper lip went out years ago. Someone says get down do it, getting up to boogie may be your last.

The problem is that the rule is a farce. Wilson actually came out and said that in training, he had actively been practicing moving into the path of a player when they start the motion of trying to kick the ball. That means that it was impossible for Gomes to avoid contact. It was not a foul, it was Wilson deliberately initiating the contact. How can it ever be a fair game now if a player tries to kick a ball and a player can jump into the path from behind with intent to be touched.
Salah on the other hand, that wasn't even being clever or using a sneaky tactic, it was just a blatent dive. - Mane has been just as bad this year too, diving and rolling around like a full rugby team trampled him after the slightest touch.
Liverpool fans comments make this more pathetic, vitriolic hatred if it goes against them but full justification and plaudits if a shirt sleeve brushed the arm of their player and the momentum sends them pirouetting like a circus acrobat, 100% foul and absolutely a penalty.

The cynical foul has existed for years, but now players feel slightest knock pressure and throw them selves down in a rather embarrassing way, var is as corrupt as it needs to be to help keep the status quo, the alleged fashionable clubs get soft decisions in there favour, a stupid decision like liverpools dissalowed goal as an example, takes spot light away from the lenient decisions that follow in subsequent games, football is treated more like business with var that annoying micro manager, we can except human error without var but not total incompetence with the blatantly obvious replayed over and over after a wrong decision is made.

Fashionable clubs getting all the VAR decisions? I hope you are including Everton in that then?

Simple rule. If you go down and stay down for more than 30 secs - ref should say it’s not safe for you to continue.
Therefore you must be taken off regardless if you have any subs left.

I hope you noticed I said stupid decision and example? we got lucky that's a goal all day long, would you have preferred me to use Chelsea or man City? We ain't fashionable.

The hypocrisy from Everton fans is astounding. They're top of the league for favourable VAR decisions. Then you have Richarlison and Rodriguez doing a Tom Daley everytime they get a chance. Youse should clean your own house first before you try and clean the PL champions house.
