3 of our top 5 or 6 players out for Newcastle game be interesting to see if the wheels fall off again. I hope iwobi doesn't start. Like I really really hope he doesn't.

I’m hoping for a reaction following that poor effort against Southampton. And now that we are missing Coleman, Richarlison, James and Digne we really are thin on the ground with quality. So those that come in need to show their quality and ambition.

If Iwobi starts then I expect we won’t do anything for the first 45 when he inevitably gets subbed off at half time

I don’t want him to play for us ever again.

Obviously the Southampton game was a massive disappointment but there may be one bright side to it - we all knew we would lose at some point, the longer an unbeaten run stretches, the more pressure there is on the players to keep it going.
Now after the loss, Carlo had a chance to give a kick up the ass and a few stern words to up our performance (can you do that during a 5 game unbeaten start) , plus we faultered but retained top spot so not a devastating place to end our run. If our players have any passion, they will want to get back on track, so I'm cautiously optimistic of a win despite missing our big players.
Imagine how much we can improve too with the imminent return of Holgate and Gbamin. Happy days are coming!

I am just struggling to see where our goals will come from. No real goal threat apart from Dom but who will put him in? I think he'll have 2 men marking him all game.

even with injuries i would say we still have a better first 11 on the pitch if its they have the desire to play for Everton something the likes of Sigs and Iwobi haven't shown so far during their Everton career's i would bring Gomes back in play Gordon on the right and bernard on the left the other thing Carlos may do is play 3 CBs as Braithwaite is back with iwobi playing as a no10.

Despite continued faith in Carlo (obviously) , even the most optimistic in me just cannot see where our quality in depth is. Without James, Ricki, a good RB fit and a decent midfielder to use the Alan/ Decoure platform, we are in for some disappointment. We may have to sink a few places prior to a January window fix.
