So I've had time to sleep on it and I'm still mad. But I didn't want to go on a tirade about Everton.

Instead I wanted to touch on the positions that need fixing either in January or the summer.

Goalkeeper: because Pickford is the 3rd worst keeper in the league.

Right back: Because Kenny isn't good enough and Coleman doesn't get forward enough anymore.

Centre midfield: Because Gomes and Sigurdsson don't offer anything and they are letting Allan and Doucoure down massively.

Right wing: Because James is playing there and doing well but he's not suitable long term due to his lack of tracking, so a good quality right winger is needed.

Striker: Because outside of DCL we have Tosun who is a fridge, Kean who is Niasse without the loveable attitude and Simms, who is a kid.

Now another issue we have is we have 6 centre backs. Keane, Mina, Holgate, Godfrey, Branthwaite and Gibson, all offer different things but if we have to get rid of 2 of them to bring in some money, I'd pick Mina and Gibson, Mina is too unreliable and Gibson is basically Holgate without the pace and Branthwaite is better defensively, even if he isn't as talented.

Obviously we need to get rid of Bolasie, Besic, Kenny, Tosun, Iwobi (please) , Kean and 2 of Delph, Sigurdsson and Gomes.

So we still have a lot of players we need to ship out which trims the squad down quite a bit and hopefully make room for the 5-6 players we need to get, although I know FFP is an issue.

But I do have faith in Carlo and Brands because they've done pretty well so far, although there is a worry that in the summer Richarlison will leave for a big fee which I hope not.

But it is nice to have a proven reliable manager for once and I can't wait for the next game to hopefully right the wrong of yesterday, up the table topping chart topping snidey toffees.

Good stuff Swan, the only thing I would add is Simms is a kid it's true, though I am waiting with calm composure for him to play his part knowing we have Carlo to time it to perfection mate.

I agree though with all of it!

Very poor recruitment has been our downfall - can’t blame players as I wouldn’t walk away from a 50k a week contract but the list is terrible Williams, Bolasi, Klasson, Sandro, Naisse, Toson, Garbutt, Besic, Schniderlin, Morallas, - they are just of the top of my head - all players who we have struggled to get off books.

It’s very clear we are short of a forward - the money spent on Kean, Toson, and Naisse is unbelievable- we will make a 50 million loss on these players by the time they all are gone.

We need a right back - it’s been obvious for 3-4 seasons so it’s surprising we have x6 centre half’s

Just out of interest sake Swan who are the 2 keepers who are worse than Pickford?

Tosun - not sure why you reckon he’s a fridge, we haven’t actually seen him play enough to make that call. Also in the new set up o think he will thrive once fit.

I agree. We certainly need a right back, Carlo has only had one window and done pretty good with that.

He lost sulky arse to psg which left him short in attack, now you say you would not play Simms as he is still a youngster, but I just wonder if you say the same about Nkounkou playing at left back, with Digne ban.

Our hands are tied until we get those players you mentioned out of our club, we need to look at the bigger picture and allow patience and time, you are spot on about the players mentioned, but we have the right guy in Carlo, his options are limited for the time bein, but he will get there with another couple of transfer windows.

Problem as I see it is when it goes wrong we can all sit here and pass judgement on who is rubbish and who should go but then who should come in to replace them and who could we realistically get?
From what Ed has said we are sailing close to the wind on the FFP side of things and our recruitment was never going to be out right in one window with Carlo and Brands with the shackles off.
I’m hoping Nkounkou has a great run of games, prefer to see him marauding down the flank to Delph
I also feel Tosun could offer something in this system, if Tosun is to leave then maybe Milik on loan in Jan could be an option for his replacement as he’s not been included in the Napoli squad for the season according to reports.
But then I do hope we see Simms at some point
Despite the slip up at Southampton I am impressed with the improvements so far so let’s see how the team bounce back from this, no time for hiding it’s time to step up

Was thinking the same Gingerdan. Once fit he will fit the pattern of Carlo liking his strikers in the box. Look at Tosuns International and Turkish Club goals in Champions League. January we definitely need a RB and a RW (B) , to free up Rodrigues as a 10.
