Alwaysblue, sorry but I think your reaction is very immature, where do you think the Prem would be without the big six? and how much do you think the TV companies would pay without them? a welcome you views on those questions, by the way the six clubs are not proposing to leave Prem yet, probably play more weakened sides in it, making it even less attractive to TV.

Meggsey I suppose it’s where you stand.
Like many in here I’m sure we didn’t think football was invented at the start of the PL.
Football was always great.

I’d rather it was back to how it was - 7-8 UK players with maybe 5 foreign players in the squad.

Paying £15 quid tops to watch the match and cups / leagues going to the best managers / coaches rather than owners willing to take loans out against their teams to finance 200 million players - you won’t get the likes of Clough, Bobby Robson, Kendall again - top managers now have 500-600 million to pick a squad rather than coach them

I’d rather see Everton vs Notts Forrest in a semi final of a cup than see Everton vs Minsk in a UEFA style cup.

I’d rather see champions league full of champions only in a knock out system from the off rather than this long drawn money milking cup we have now.

The fans hold the keys to this. If we vote with our feet - watch u23s or local sides rather than the sky / BT / Amazon money football will win.

Well said Sobs, the fans who are open to the breakaway need to be careful what they wish for. And to be honest, I really don't think LFCs and uniteds hardened fans will allow American owners to take them out of domestic football purely to line their own pockets, it would mean everything they have achieved in English football would basically be discarded.

If the clubs who join the proposed EuroPL remain in the EPL, there will be such a huge gulf in revenue. It's already huge with the top clubs generating 3-4 times that of clubs in the chasing pack. Imagine how hard it will be to compete when the odds are stacked 10/ 1?

They brought in FFP to protect revenue streams - other teams are starting to catch up now though; the likes of Wolves, Leicester, Everton, Sheffield Utd. threatening to take valuable European spots and deprive these 'elite' clubs of the revenue streams they feel entitled too.

Solution: guarantee revenue for the next 20 years by creating a new competition! That will satisfy the shareholders - especially when you're just about to announce massive shortfalls in the current year's revenue. Football is not even a consideration.

I say let them go (with a heavy heart) but make it a clean break - a one-way ticket. Remove them from all domestic competition and exclude their players from international selection. Let them set up their own PPV system - I won't be subscribing.

Let's see how much fun it is for LFC and MUFC fans to be resigned to mid-table finishes and getting hammered away in Turin, Milan, Madrid, Munich etc every week - not to mention paying hundreds for a match ticket.

I honestly think it’s time for the fans to stand up. I’m sure the vast majority of fans from all clubs are against this (including LFC - Man Utd etc. )

I actually agree with Gary Neville - need to protect the game for the fans!
