I never thought I'd see the day when the 'cancel' generation would target football so I was surprised to see the fall-out from yesterdays derby. I know every team has their fair share of embarrassing fans but our neighbours have taken it to an extreme with some of the posts I've seen today! I get that it's a harsh decision by VAR to chalk off a goal but it is what it is, what can be done after a game? Nothing. You have no choice but to take it on the chin not organise protests and petition Parliament to get the two points.
Pickford's tackle on VVD was a bad one and could have led to a red caqrd but guess what? It never happened, we got a FK for offside so no penalty and no red card. Get over it. If any red wants to talk about bad tackles then have a look in the first few minutes and what VVD did to James and to DCL. Should we get upset because the bully got bullied? Not for me. I've got sympathy that the lad is injured but he throws a few dirty tackles in himself so let's not pretend he is a saint just because it fits your narrative. Mane could have seen red for an impetuous kick out, Robertson was lucky too so why aren't those reds talking about these incidents too? Welcome to our world, you have had the rub of the green in the derby games for how long now? It's a game boys and girls, some times things go for your team and other times it doesn't.

{Ed025's Note - i think your spot on BP mate..

Forget it Bluepotato, we have been shafted enough by bad decisions and a fair few in the derbies.
I hope these suspect decisions keep being made and I hope we keep capitalising on them.
Let's look forward to the saints game and 3 points.

I think the feelings are because one of our best players is likely out for the season. Pickfords tackle was a nasty one but even if he gets three games it isn't going to reverse it.

Let's not get to a point of he said she said, social media heightens tensions and general spouting. End of the day derbies have bite, they should. Pickford got away with one yesterday, our player is injured nothing we can do so you just move on.

WYred, that's the point mate, move on. If Pickford was to be punished retrospectively then it wouldn't really affect LFC anyway so it's just spite really. And that goes for both sets of fans, I have no doubt that we have our own idiots. I'm sorry but the things on social media need to be highlighted in this case as it was ridiculous to the extreme! Protests and petitions are just crazy and if it was a blue posting such stuff they would get hammered for it. Rightly so as well! A couple of your players got lucky too imo but that's football. I sincerely hope that VVD isn't out for as long as you say but I've got little sympathy in the sense that he put two bad challenges in himself early doors, live by the sword? At least it was a decent derby for a change eh? I think your fans are right to feel aggrieved with how the game ended, I'd be exactly the same if the shoe was on the other foot. For a change, it's not us blues coming away from a derby game feeling hard done by!

That’s my point blue, idiots in all walks and both sides of the argument. BUt they are the minority and don’t represent the entire fan base,

If Pickford gets punished after it changes nothing, it doesn’t heal the lad. We both move on to the next game and it’s done.

The petitions and talk of conspiracies are plain daft, the ref missed one end of.

As for the offside that’s football in 2020 unfortunately.

I think we should both move on. Emotions are high on our side and I get your points as well so won’t argue against it. Mane was elbowed so an argument can be made there for a card but he was naughty in tripping Mina in retaliation and could and should have picked up a card . Pickford’s challenge was indefensible and if that was Allison I would be saying the same. That also goes for Richarlson challenge both of which could have ended a player’s career.

I can imagine with the news coming out that VVD requiring surgery on an ACL emotions will rise again but we can’t feel sorry for ourselves or play victim as every team goes through injuring problems, which is part and parcel of the game. All emotions aside, it was a great game and Everton have improved a lot and should do well under Ancelotti if you continue to play the way you are, though consistency is key. On a side note in Calvin Lewis you have a very good player!
