Anyone else heard about Stones being mentioned for a return? Personally the lad can do one in my opinion. Dropped us like Lescott did and that really annoyed me. Can't get anywhere near the city team and for good reason. The lads clumsy as hell. Always has been. Thoughts?

{Ed025's Note - i think there is a player in there frankie, he went to secure his familys future and win things so i cant blame him for that, if he was the right price i think carlo could do a lot worse mate, just my opinion of course..

You can hardly criticize a player for wanting the move to Man City. A chance to win some major honours on a regular basis, was unlikely as hell that he would achieve that here. Not one of the worlds elite CBs and perhaps Man City was a step too far for his talent, but definitely good enough to improve the vast majority of teams in the league, including us.

Thought it was Everton who sold him to make a profit.

{Ed025's Note - they did skylark but of course he had to agree, i dont have a problem with that mate...its just part of the game..

I agree with you Ed on the Stones reasons for wanting out of EFC at 'that time', and I guess in the cold light of day I would (if I had his talent that is and not being a natural born blue like him ) would do the same!
I just wonder what his ''reasons'' for not being a big star at MCFC are? plus would Carlo desire to have someone who is regarded by some as a ''flop'' at the Etihad stadium included in his own well thought out plans?

{Ed025's Note - i dont think he has fulfilled his potential 247 and he has found it difficult with the style city play, i believe he needs a rock along side him and for him to be the ball player, but what do i know..

Ed I will say as an afterthought as it were, if Carlo decided he 'could' fit in with the plans etc. I personally wouldn't complain at all, well not straight away mate 😉.

{Ed025's Note - i think him alongside someone steady like keane would work 247, if he was available at the right price i think carlo could work wonders with him mate..

I don't get why anyone has a problem with him leaving, does every player have to stay if we like them? He went to a better team, won titles and cups, fair play to him.

I'd have him back at right price or loan definitely.

Not got a problem with the manner in which he left at all. But I do think he’s got a mistake each half in him. The big question is will he improve us. I don’t think he will.

{Ed025's Note - im not so sure ace, every one of our centre backs have a mistake in them mate, i think carlo could take him to the next level..

I'm all about loyalty boys. We brought him in from a lesser team (Barnsley) , made him in to a player and then he more or less forced a transfer after a shocking season that really damaged us. He owes us a season. Cast your mind back, we blocked Chelsea, blocked Utd and we tried to block until Stones made that impossible. For me, he owed us another season. That's why (in my opinion) he's not welcome back.

I get what your'e saying mate re ''loyalty' however for a while now that's been a precious commodity and very very rare.

Let’s not forget Stones is not a boyhood Everton fan, as Ed said he quite rightly went to win things and secure his family’s future AND we made a hefty profit too. I would welcome him back with open arms, he would be playing under the best manager in the world, he will be hungry to regain an England place and I think he’d be a relatively cheap signing. Would love this to happen.

agree toffeebluejo. he lives locally so we won't have hassle of moving. he made his cash but will more than likely want to play rather than sit in the background, i think its a no brainer. we are crying out for a defender.

Yes Ed, I see your point and thinking of the improvement in Keane it is a fair shout.
