Watched our game today. It was nice today to see a team with players managing to pass to team mates, with players moving into good positions to receive the ball, with players moving with speed, with players tackling as if they wanted to win the ball back, with the team playing like the team members have practiced together, with players caring about what they were doing. A team playing to the best of their ability.
Pity it was not Everton.

How’s it a good post lol. About 3 days ago I read posts saying ‘it’s a new season, Carlos first whole season, let’s get behind the team this season and give them the extra support they need’. After one pre season Friendly/ run out fans are straight back on the ‘full team and we’re drawing against Blackpool, ‘we’re getting relegated next season’. Yes the team need to get there ass into gear the next few games before the season starts but for me the majority of our fans need to learn how to support their football club again. Coming back from 3-0 to draw 3-3 against Blackpool in a pre season friendly I would say is a very good run out, I’d also say the same if we lost 3-2. It meant nothing.

Dog Puke, Everton should not go 0-3 down in the first place. Whether it’s a friendly or not.

It’s a game of football though, and not even a competitive one mate. 3 months ago Liverpool lost to Watford 3-0. I say get over it (quickly) and support the team in the next one. It’s a friendly.

Im certain you must not have watched the first 10 minutes of the game if you think that was a good run out. Disgrace is the only word I can think of. On a positive note, I thought Lewis Gibson was good in the second half, I hope we can get him more involved with the first team as there looks to be a good player there.

I’m with dogpuke - preseason friendly result doesn’t matter it’s the performance of players and the chance to try different formations and combinations of players.
3-0 down in first 12 minutes or so not great admittedly but was first time that back 4 had played together.
I’d rather our failings and inadequacies be highlighted in our first pre season game when we can actually do something about it than our first game of the season!
I think Carlo and the board will have learned more from that performance than if we’d won 3-0.
Results only matter when the season starts.
Use these pre-season matches to see who will perform for us in the season.

Carlo will have more sway after that result when he asks for reinforcements rather tv an if we had won.

Get behind the team and support them - otherwise why are you a fan?

DGold1878 you’re certainly wrong then my friend I watched 90 mins and for me you’re looking far too much into a friendly football match.

Regardless of it being a friendly the team showed the same basic failings that we had last year. I am 80 years of age and went to my first game at 6 so don't give me any lectures about supporting the club. At present we look like a bunch of individuals who have never played together, it just is not good enough.

3 nil down in first 12 or so mins is not good however last season, if that happened heads would’ve been on the floor and team would’ve conceded more
Clearly Carlo has done something to get them believing they can come back
That’s an immediate positive
Also there was about 20 players used so this gave Carlo a chance to view players in a match environment not a training match behind closed doors
Give them a chance before writing them off before the season starts!

And we at our age certainly cannot be accused of wanting instant success BlueMike1, 🤣.

Didn't we win 22-0 a couple of pre- seasons ago and then couldn't score a goal once the season started.
It means nothing.

A friendly against Blackpool in pre season is not the be all and end all of our season
What is worrying to me though is we've already been through one saga with Hojberg and lost him
Another with Gabriel and lost him
we're going through 2 more with Allen and Doucore

We 2 weeks away from the start of the new season. Any new players should have already been signed and be busy integrating with the team

I appreciate that money is tighter this year but these endless sagas in an attempt to save a couple of million have caused us to lose out and left us ill prepared for the start of next season

We made a mess of it last season not replacing Zouma and panic buying Iwobi. We could be in even greater problems this season unless we buy soon, especially in midfield and give them some precious little time with the squad before Spurs If we play the same midfield then we're onto a morale/ confidence crushing defeat - no matter how good CA is.

bw2412 - what are you on about?

We offered same fee for holjberg and even more money than spurs as a wage - he chose spurs.

We’ve allegedly offered the same fee for Gabriel as the other teams - he is undecided.

Not sure where you get the idea we’ve missed out because we’re trying to save money.

It is frustrating we haven’t bought anyone yet but you can’t blame the club summer recruitment for missing out on hjolberg and potentially Gabriel.

That's it then fellas, a 3-3 draw in the first run out of pre-season so you must all be right, relegation dog fight to come! Get a grip boys, if it becomes a familiar pattern with results over all of the friendly games then you may have something to moan about, and God know's some of you in this forum love to moan for the sake of it. But one game? Perspective needed gents, I'm quite certain some of you would like us to get relegated just so you can say you told us so!

No such thing as a friendly, it’s a competitive game of football, we are what we are, unfortunately not that good but we can only get better, hopefully.
