The papers talk as though there are only high cost great players out there to buy. What lessons Everton could learn from Bayern Munich recruitment. their starting XI for their win over Lyon cost a mere £90.1m - one sixth of what PSG have spent. Lewandowski and Muller cost little and Alaba was brought in from Austria Wien for just £135,000. Their most-expensive signing in Wednesday night's starting XI was Manuel Neuer - £27m. We need to stop overpaying for mediocrity and scout better. there are future great players out there that don't cost a fortune and push our wage bill up to financially senseless proportions. Clubs with far less money than the Blues have done astute business. we should be turning up a few surprises rather than being constantly linked to players from a very small pool.
Oscar.

That is what Brands was brought in for but with only a year left on his contract he has only just been given some freedom to do his job, although still somewhat of a difference of opinion twixt he and Moshri still exists.

You make some good points Oscar as I think BM recruitment has been excellent however don’t forget that some of their talent have gone to BM as they are BM and not Everton. Dortmund did everything that they could to keep RL but he was always going to go to BM as he wanted to - we unfortunately don’t have that pull I mean far from it. I think a better comparison would be RB Leipzig who from conception in 2009 have gone from strength to strength including losing player after player. The success of RB is based on adopting a plan - notably by Ralph Rangnick has been stuck to even in the face of difficulties.

Also got to consider that if a EPL team wants a player, the selling team adds a couple more quid on the asking price!
