I read this morning that Sky pundit Merson is spouting his usual rubbish saying Everton are in Cloud Cuckoo land if they think he is in this new job as manager other than for financial rewards.

They can think again, I just don't get this guy and many of the others why do they continue to belittle Everton at every opportunity they get, are they worried we might actually get to challenge the top teams at last, we gave Man U and Chelsea good games but no credit to us those teams of theirs were having off days etc etc, we'll look out Sky and the rest of you We Are Coming To Get You.

{Ed047's Note - Merson is a clown mate, you should ignore the drivel spouted by the media, your a top club with a great history and I think a great future.

The same Paul Merson that said Richarlison ruined the transfer window when we pain £40m for him. Hopefully he’s as right about Ancelotti as he was Richarlison.

Joe, and he is so easily wound up himself re AFC, he comes across as a 'punchy boxer' repeats ''outstanding'' like a broken record 🥴.

{Ed025's Note - hes a comedy pundit 247, knows very little about football and retained for his knob head value..

Ed 25. You nailed it there.

{Ed025's Note - he seems to have a problem with everton ace and has said some very disparaging things in the past, maybe thomas graveson kicked his arse in the past or something mate..

I find it bizarre that other clubs are frightened by little old Everton. personally i love it when these 'persons' speak cack. and then have to back track. i do same with people. i say nothing and then let them stew in their own juices when their theories are proven as b. s. For the record i don't know anyone that takes merson seriously.

{Ed002's Note - who are these clubs you think are frightened of Everton?}

Nice comment from Ed047. I am 80 in February and have been at Goodison when we have won the league and at Wembley in 1966 and 1995 when we won the cup, but it is a long time since we won anything. For whatever reason we are no longer a top club and since Moshiri purchased the majority shares we have had our high expectations repeatedly dashed, let's hope the appointment of Ancelotti will bring us the great future you suggest. I know it will take time but let's face it some of us don't have all that much time left.

{Ed025's Note - you will still be here for a long while yet mike and hopefully see us lift a trophy or 2 mate..

The guy is an absolute lemon. I wouldn't be worried by anything he says.

This day and age the media is shocking. there's very little real connoisseurs of the game left in punditry these days and it's very biased towards their own clubs they've played for.

Danny Murphy is a perfect example. Every quote starts with 'when I played for Liverpool'. Its completely irrelevant who he played for and what they did.

Idiotic and stupid all of them and my words of the month.

Take what Paul Merson says with a pinch of salt, he get over paid by Sky for talking rubbish, I have never valued his opinion.

{Ed025's Note - nor me mate..

Sorry ed. poorly articulated whilst in a rush. my perception is that explayers and indeed a lot of fans of other clubs (i currently work on a site with 10,000 other people. most of whom are fans of the big four) spend a lot of time discussing / critiquing everton. instead of just focusing on their own clubs. This is just my experience but every week i have a lot of man u, city, lpool and chelsea fans/ colleagues who spend more time trying to take p! ss out of everton - ancelotti is the current flavour of the month. "too small a club", "hes the wrong man", "hes too old". i will say nothing, smile or tell them they don't need to worry. as i said my perception is that despite poor season and board decisions other fans/ players of other clubs seem scared that everton may actually get it right this time. I stress that's my perception/ opinion. regardless of who else agrees.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know any ex-players who will be discussing it between themselves aside from those asked questions as "pundits". Certainly the ex-players at Chelsea, who I know best ,will not be concerned about it. I have seen only a handful of posts on these pages from other fans discussing the matter, so I think other clubs, and other clubs players, will not be concerning themselves. As for your colleagues, that would be good old fashioned banter.}
