How many of the Silva out brigade were handing out the leaflets in 83 wanting to see the back of Kendall ? Just wondering?

Wasn't alive then but I can't stand our current manager that's all I know.

20 years older than you gary66. Totally different scenario twix Kendall and Silva. And how dare you mention Silva in the same breathe.

The leaflets were being circulated well into his third season in charge, gates were less than 9000 and within a year we were the best team in Europe. Changing managers year after year isn't the answer mate .

I suggest you re-read my post . I didn't compare Silva to Kendall . My point is sacking the manager every 12 months isn't the answer. If the boo boys had their way in 83 we would never have known how good Kendall was . I hope that's simple enough for you bill.

The difference is that Kendall did not have the money spent on players like tis guy had by any comparison,
Also Kendall only did well when Harvey was brought in along side him, many forget that.

Garyo66 - Silva has shown zero improvement during his time despite significant investment. He also did nothing aside from a couple of decent games at Watford. Comparing this situation to 35 years ago is a non-starter because the league is different, the investment is different and the ramifications of finishing further down the table or even relegation is terrifyingly different.

I would disagree with you there dark clouds . It wasn't until the Premier league ( which Philip Carter was the main driving force behind ) had started when we started to go backwards . Until then we were consistently amongst the biggest spenders . Kendall chose to buy lots of cheaper players rather than big name stars but the money was there and spent too.

We are nowhere near relegation, we are 6 games in . 35 years ago there was zero improvement after 30 months . This is a 3 season project. I find it funny that Brandts and Moshiri are Gods in most Evertonians eyes yet one picks the players and the other the manager .
