Seen Moyes doubts we should have bought Moses Kean. Guess if he was manager still we would have resigned Anichibe?

His track record with kids and how to handle them wasnt the best so I want be taking too much notice of him in respect of Kean.

Or strikers for that matter!

He’s probably worried that he will no longer be the Moise people associate with Everton.

Moyes a far better manager than Silva and a very good judge of players bought well for us, very well.

He bought well but not very well. There were plenty of poor buys along the way.

There's an article in the echo, dated March of this year, which gives a brief summary of each of his 74 signings. Believe me, DC, although he bought some good players, there is far more on the list that would struggle to get in a lower league team today! I'd forgotten some of the names until looking at the article.

I have to say going through the list Moyes bought some absolute gems for us who went on to become Everton legends Jagielka, Baines, Neville, Cahill, Stubbs, Arteta, Lescott, Howard, Coleman, Distin, Dier (but only for Tottenham) , Naismoth, Pienaar, Stones, Mustafi (for Arsenal)
but this is out of 74 players he signed

There were some failures in that 74 but some of that was caused by a low transfer budget, albeit as much as Kenwright could get for him.

As I said Silva and Brands have only had 3 windows so there is still time for them to make mistakes but any failures yet? Not that I can think of.

24 out of 64 I would see as being good purchases. There was a lot (and I mean a lot) of dross bought under Moyes. Whether that was him or not, who can say but one only has to mention Per Koldrup, Niclas Alexandersson, Idan to name but a few to realise how bad it was.

I have a lot of time for Moyes and it's difficult trying to compare managers from different periods. I'd of loved seeing what Moyes could have done with the Moshiri money back when he was manager but that was then and this is now.

I'm happy with the progress made under Silva (with the help from Brands on recruitment) and wouldn't swap him for Moyes at this point in our development.

DC it's very early days I know but tell me one bad signing from Silva/ Brands so far? The biggest doubt has been Mina but he has been hampered by injuries and played very well, albeit for one game, against Crystal Palace. Do you honestly believe the same of the Moyes signings? Some good ones certainly but also some failures wouldn't you say.

Moyes Signings

I know you want to criticise Silva at every opportunity but please help me to understand whether it's based on logic or just purely some deep seated antagonism towards him.

It's difficult to compare. Moyse had a long time at the club but won nothing despite having the 5th biggest transfer budget for most of his managerial tenure.

I mean if we finish above 17th this season does that make Silva better than Moyes?
