I am not 100 per cent ready just yet – and I need to be faster - I've had only one week of training with the team, so I will keep going and work very hard. these are JP comments folks, however what I further read into this is . But I was still worth the gamble ahead of Tom Davies! . What’s everyone’s thoughts? - I have never been a massive TD fan you see.

I think Tom Davies is just turned 20 and is a different midfielder to both JP and Andre Gomes, I know at age19 he broke into the first team and scored a goal against city, I know Silva made him Captain of our club, I know that I will never get to pick the first team of our great club and thankfully neither will you, your thought process is devisive bordering on Machiavellian. Is Tom Davies the next victim of the boo boys someone to blame another local lad made good, Barclay, Osman, Hibbert. It puzzles me why people feel it necessary to point a finger and find someone to single out as not good enough.
I think if you haven’t got something nice to say about someone you should remain quiet, I also think that if you think you can read the mind of someone from them saying one thing and you spinning a different meaning out of moonbeams to justify your own dislikes is slightly worrying and I suggest you go and get a check up from the neck up, Mind you that’s only my opinion based on what you wrote?!?! What’s everyone else think?, and to be honest I don’t know you, I’ve never met you and I’m not sure I want to, and given the choice I’d play Tom alongside JP as they appear to be the only two fit midfielders we have . Get behind the squad or get off the bus .
Sorry rant over but the post wowned me up
I’m sure you a nice person just misdirected
Big C.

Tom is 20 and doesn't need to be a starter or even 1st choice sub.
He will come on here and there and will progress from the experience.

If in a couple of seasons he hasn't started getting on the team sheet then he might need to move on.
Until then he is ok.

I like TD but think he is in a difficult position at Everton. I don't believe he, or anyone knows what his best position is.
He does not have the defensive qualities of a Gueye as the defensive midfielder but he also hasn't demonstrated the vision or passing ability of a Gomes or Siggy in the advanced positions. What he does have is a good engine and a passion to do well for Everton.

He's still very young and has the time to grow into a position but - and this is why I think he is in a difficult position. I=Is he going to get a run of games in the side, on one position, so he can learn that role? Unfortunately all I can see is, on the bench at best, and coming on for cameos at the end.

I'm sure Silva believes in him and will be working hard with him in training but, unless there is an injury to someone in front of him, I think he will struggle to develop into a top player due to lack of playing time and no consistency in position.
He, and Silva, need to decide on what is his best position and work on improving that role.
