Ok. What's everyone's opinion on a return for Moyes? I was very vocal on the manner in which he left and that I wouldn't give him a chance again. But seeing how we have wasted every season since. And the fact he didn't have the kind of money that the others had, I'm softening to the possibility. I'm sick of conceding (yeah I know Degsy) , I would like the Goodison atmosphere that hasn't been there since he left back. He will have no excuses Of being under funded. Genuinely I'm torn and I know it's not on the table but what about you guys? What's your opinion?

{Ed025's Note - not in a million years for me ace..

Arteta for me. Club in his blood and has worked for Pep for the last few years.

I would like to see Arteta manage a club before coming to us. Too risky. We need a proven manager if we are to challenge the top 6.

I'm of the opinion that there are unique matches between clubs and managers. Eddie Howe being a current example.
A Moyes return would be seen a backwards step for probably 95% of supporters and forgiving the way he departed I would happily see him return in an interim role to get the team back to basics.
Silva is another example of the desire to have a foreign manager playing nice football but unfortunately for us he was the best we could attract.
We are a laughing stock with our irresponsible spending and appointment. Silva is not our future nor will he ever be.
Moyes may be spent as a Premier manager force but at least he has (had) a passion for our club. we could do worse!

{Ed0333's Note - you could do worse than Moyes, in fact you did with Alladyce. I agree with you’re irresponsible spending remark, for two seasons in a row you have bought badly (besides Richardson & Digne) and have spent a lot of money in the process. If I were brands I would revolutionize you’re scouting network, invest heavily in the academy oh and get rid of Silva pronto.

I believe despite the obvious inabilities of Mr Silva, that he is here for the duration. At the moment there are other Clubs cushioning us from relegation, that is one reason for my belief. That team on paper against Millwall should have been strong enough but there is just no urgency or motivation about them and that has to be down to the Manager and coaching staff. The fact that our hierarchy show no signs of recognising these failings has to be deeply worrying.

you know what, if they do decide silva is not the man and sack before season end, I really wouldn't mind seeing moves until the end of the season, but further than that? you've got noooo chance.

ed0333 r academy already has good players who need to be tested in the first team between now and summer. Hornby, Feeney, Beni, Evans, Astley, Ouzounidis, gibso, markelo, Bowler all deserve a chance and probably missed a few.

{Ed0333's Note - honestly mate I’d blood a few now. That’s gonna be more beneficial than a place or two up the table. If I was Silva I would seek assurances about my job and play some youngsters and build for the future.

Not Moyes for me I think it would be a backwards step. Ed0333 out of interest why do you seem to dislike Silva so much? I'm currently on the fence about his appointment as he hasn't really had time to do much. He seems to be looking for answers but not getting results. After a bright start playing reasonably attractive football it seems we are in a slump. Not unusual for us over the last few seasons. We usually pick back up the second half of the season so I expect the same from the boys under Silva's management.

{Ed0333's Note - Silva has a managerial blueprint he has a decent start than loses lots of games. Oh and coupled with the fact his teams can’t defend. It’s not that I dislike him but he’s not the caliber of manager Everton need.
