Be interesting to watch Ross return to the International stage against Germany tonight. oh wait he isn't starting as apparently Jake Livermore is a better option, same old England, different manager same old shite team selections, form players should be starting.

Exactly bluegray. Jake Livermore, what's the point? He wouldn't get a kick in a stampede.

The form players are starting bluegray. Hart is on and he's let in 15 goals in his last few matches. Now that's good form.

He does not see Ross at a cm . He would have to fight it out in them number 10s pos . So Lallana Alli sterling Barkley is he going to play ahead of them 3 . England look a balance team tonight to the subs come on.

Ok, but, if your right, why take him? He's in the form of his life, if that's not good enough to get a starting roll, then it's Southgates loss, mind you, whoever gave mr potato head the England managers job, never told him he was only joking.

Thing is Matip, Ross can play as a deeper lying midfielder and has done before and it would still have been a balanced midfield.
It doesn't hide the fact that you are not selected on form.
If you intend to win a football match you select your best available players and especially when the team had some little time to prepare, you get your first 11 on from the off so they have time to gel and then mess about second half, the caps at international level are given away now not earned.

{Ed025's Note - your right gray...jake livermore??....JAKE BLOODY LIVERMORE!!!! im all for giving players a chance in a friendly but...JAKE LIVERMORE??? come on gareth you have lost all credibility with this one..

Would imagine he was being kept back for the qualifier and I for one am delighted if he only plays one out of the two games.

Re Southgate, I personally don't think it was a bad appointment. No 'big name' manager would want the job because it's a lose-lose with the English press, plus he seems a lot more open-minded than his predecessors, e. g. 3 at the back, giving Keane and Livermore a go etc. Nobody will agree with all the decisions he makes, but at least he's experimenting a bit. The telling decisions will come when Henderson, Rooney, Kane etc are fit - will he revert to the same old?

Last nights game was a testimonial all said and done, I expect Ross to play in the qualifier, a game that really means something!

I expect hendo and Kane to come back I did expect stones to play main CB . But I was happy with the chance he's giving a look at players like jake Livermore and defore it's about time a manger looks at players to fit a system rather than names and clubs fit a system.

Ed. I would have had tom davies in the squad before Livermore. Didn't do a great deal last night. It just seemed a step too far for him.

{Ed025's Note - i would have niasse in before livermore geoff and hes not even english!, some of the players that have been picked are a joke mate..
