Can't wait for the summer now big hopes for us, I think we will shock a few pundits and teams. We have class players and the youngsters we have will do well.

Got no idea what manager we will get, but I will give him time like I did with rm.

Anyway it all starts from here.

Everton 80/ 1 for title 2017, worth a punt, Leicester 28/ 1 can't see them getting anywhere near the top 4 next time due to sales and other clubs spending massively but who would have thought they would win this year, still can't get over how mad that is.

Name these class players? Please don't say Barkley or Stones been found out big time.

Imho Stones and Barkley are class players just mismanaged. Why do people insist on putting the players down? They carry out the instructions they are given and try their best. Even though the trying their best can be debatable this last month or so.

Change of manager with a number of plans not only one and proper management will see these players reach their potential. Its as simple as that for me.

Barkley I will never slate. He gets too much stick. He's a top lad and still very young. He's only a kid. Supporters nowadays don't seem happy unless they are giving out or putting down someone, anyone.

I have given out about RM but that was after 2 and a half years of reluctantly supporting him. What happened to supporters actually supporting the team?

Don't care how much they earn even though I think they earn far too much. If you call yourself a supporter then support the team. As I seen a post on here in the last couple of days. No matter who our new manager is I will support him even if I don't agree with who it is. Everyone needs to be given a chance.

If we continually slate our players, especially young home grown ones, no players will want to play for us. Rant over.

Come on Al, Stones had no way of pushing on with RM in charge and Barkley was told to pass sideways or backwards and never tackle, to me that is reigning someone in, i'm pretty sure we will see things different with a new manager in charge, you could see a difference in Barkley on Sunday straight away, no looking behind him and running at their defence, imagine if the new manager told Barkley he had a free role, and when you lose the ball use that speed and power and go get the friggin ball back, he would be immense and we will see it next season.

Anyone notice that Stones even with Roberto and his Staff's influence gone, could still not resist messing about with the ball in our area. I still say if we are to get the best out of this lad he has to move outside of the back four. He can tackle, he can run with the ball and he can spot a pass, tailor made for a Libero position in my view.

Older posters on here will know that bringing youth players into a first team environment can be risky. Being a professional footballer takes great mental strength as much as skill, fitness etc. Older players know all the things to do and say off the ball to distract the younger ones. I remember reading stupid comments 2 years ago on here about Moyes holding Stones and Barkley back and Roberto giving them a chance. This was the same Moyes who gave Rooney his debut at 16 and Jose Baxter our youngest ever player his debut. I knew then that these comments were ridiculous. Anyway, so Roberto did make Barkley and Stones first choice in the positions he wanted. I watched with interest to see how they got on and I have to say that at times they both performed quite brilliantly. However, I also noted that they also had games were they were clearly "rattled" and when the crowd started turning on them I realised that Roberto had put too much weight on these very young shoulders. Yes certain players are strong and certain young players can overcome situations that develop to the point where being on the pitch is a heavy weight. I fully believe that both Stones and Barkley carried too much expectation this season. I saw both play very well at the higher level of international games, so I know it is about confidence, burden and other personality traites. Both are class but both need space and support. That is from their manager, their families and us fans!

They both played well yesterday it would appear that on the surface anyway some pressure was lifted. I just fail to understand despite evidence to the contrary why/ how Roberto Martinez has this reputation as being one of the best young Managers around. Perhaps it is not Roberto at all and it is his choice of Staff, he did after all bring his Wigan Staff with him.
