Good win today but I'm absolutely gutted. I feel so sad for Oviado. For the first time I can remember watching Everton I have more empathy with the player than I have with the club. All players will suffer an injury at some point but this is depressing.

Brian Oviado is a top footballer, I won't go over the top and say he's world class, but a top, top footballer. None of us knew how good he really was because he was never given the opportunity until a couple of months ago (Hats off to Leighton). But let's be honest, if he was transferred before the start of the season none of us would have been that concerned, Moyes obviously only ever saw him as a left back and therefore never appreciated how good he was attacking down the wing. He had to sit it out on the bench and wait for his chance. (Hat's off to Martinez for recognizing his true potential), but he's come in, done everything that was asked of him, and become a crowd favorite.
As far as I'm aware, he's sat on the bench for the last couple of year's like a true professional, knowing he was a top player and never complained, never complained that he need game time etc. He just waited for his opportunity and took it. A true professional.

Like most of us, I never followed Costa Rica's progress to the world cup finals, but apparently he was inspirational in their qualification. I'm gutted for the lad that he's now going to miss representing his country in Brazil.

Like I said, good win but marred by Oviado's injury. We all wish him well and look forward to seeing him in a blue shirt again next season.
